Disabled player needs advice to get past Royce (Boss fight) Thank you.

I have C-soine issues from an injury and 2 surgeries (first one went badly). I bought the game mainly to get past the first part and go full free roam ASAP just to enjoy my new beast of a PC.

I read something about removing the virus from the chip before I give it to him as payment and then I can avoid fighting him with his armor on but of course that was after I had already given him the chip and am now stuck being killed by him for many hours over and over lol.

What other options are there to avoid having to fight him?

I have tried sneaking up on him but cannot get behind him because I always have the one guy turn around before I can sneak up on him and have to shoot him then Royce is there on me by the time I get away from him.

I wanted to try a stealth attack then back off, and ion a video I saw that if you can stealth attack him again, he dies.

I have the pistol but read that a shotgun is more effective (How do I get one?).

Do I need to use another save like when I first enter the meetup with DUM DUM but make sure I disable the virus first?

Does waiting for the prompt to kill Royce during the meeting make getting through the first act easier?

I wish my hands were not so uncoordinated, I may just have to remove the game because if ever getting to free roam involves killing Royce in this armor or the equivalent, I will never make it to where I can free roam.

All I want to do is free roam.

Is there an equivalent game graphic wise with free roam in a similar setting with all the ye candy?

Please don't troll me for getting in over my head, it is already rough not being able to do things I used to be able to do.

I got it, I went back to where I was sitting on the couch, when Royce came in I kept doing the dialogue then got the option to stand up and pull my gun, then to shoot him, I did and fought my way out. I need to see how many missions there are to finish act 1.

I will read up on each one now instead of winging it. I'll make it.

it's alright grandpa, most of us ain't gettin' out with functioning bodies unless we get splatted by a truck or fall over with an embolism, poof gone. Compensate. Adapt. I'm worried the eyesight will go before the dexterity and fine motor control; I'm gonna start wearing a jeweler headset magnifier to game one day, i just know it.

try not to get depressed about that, the whole point of games is to forget reality for a little while; stopping to log in to the electric company website to pay your power bill kind of ruins the mood, yeah?

re: "see how many missions there are to finish act 1" - no, no no! don't see how many missions for nothin! don't be in a hurry to "read ahead"! the game will be over before you know it, and you'll wish there was some new stuff to do. Just wing it! Best way to play! Reading ahead and planning for the best outcome ruins discovery and exploration. Get that unique weapon or really fun side mission when you stumble on it, not straight-lining for it!

Any time you're bored of dying, though, just drop the difficulty to the lowest, it's just about "story mode"; grab that lvl1 white tech weapon in your inventory and shoot him through crates when he's down on the floor patrolling the far side of the garage bay. Well you already did it, but same principle applies - go with the CHEESE with the extra CHEESE sauce. And when regular gonks are just too easy and boring, remember you lowered it and bump it back up.

Being disabled myself i can't use a joystick. Bought one for Elite Dangerous and tried but too much pain. So kb/m i guess i stick with. I do what Death said and just lower the settings to Easy mode as needed. There is no Story mode so it's not super easy. Even Easy mode can be a big struggle when doing a boss and you don't have many skill points or maybe you need better gear/cyberware. I know 1 fight was pretty tough so came back later with better gear etc and kicked butt.

So ya caar, i feel for you. Just do as above and you'll be fine. Don't stress it to much. Just enjoy the game. Come back later if you have to as i did. I also think you should wing it. I don't mind the struggle. If i can't figure it out then i'll watch a vid.

If you don’t care about gameplay, story and all that and just want to free roam and/or use the game as a benchmarking tool/tech demo, just download a trainer to give yourself infinite HP + one shot kill to get past the prologue. No hassle or fuss; even a chimp could do it if it was trained to.

And no, you won’t be banned. Legitimately no one cares if a dude uses cheats in an exclusively singleplayer game.

By the way, it is actually possible to not fight at all in this mission. Don't meet Meredith Stout and pay the 10.000 with your own money. Then you get the bot and can just leave the premises.

For players who just want to roam without much fighting I'd recommend No Man's Sky. Most fights and battles can be switched off, so you have your peace and quiet. And it looks great by now.

I don't mind fighting, it was the boss fight that was impossible for me,. but the goons were manageable.

I hate boss fights anyway. There are going to be some more, I'm afraid, but most are avoidable by sneaking or choosing alternative plot lines (you should study walkthroughs). You might be able to play the entire game - if you are fine with a really unhappy ending.

Forget about Phantom Liberty, though. That is boss fights galore.

it is actually possible to not deal with Royce as a " boss fight " at all , you can simply shoot him in the first part of the mission when you meet to buy the bot . through dialogue choices you can pull a gun on him and choose to shoot him right there , which of course kicks off the usual hostilities against the borgs , but results in no Royce boss fight at the end ( as hes already been killed ) .

If all else fails, you can stealth out. Some builds will struggle with Royce if you didn't do all of the content availble in Watson before doing the story quests.

Latest playthrough I snuck around the right hand side of the garage, hid behind a pillar next to the henchman and waited until nobody looked my way, broke his neck (otherwise he will spot you before you reach the door) and left without Royce ever noticing me. It can be done in a few tries, quicksave is your friend.

Do you have any autosaves dating back to the begining of that mission?

Also, if you can sneak out without Royce seeing you, you can avoid the whole fight.

This however, is going to be a problem at like Oda.

I put in toward the top that I went to another save and spawned in sitting on the couch and killed Royce and fought my way through the goons.

Play in easy, rotate to try to get in his back.
Be careful on weapon sound to hide behind walls when he shoots.
