Rain Bug
I have this weird issue that after it rained for a day, the visual effect for the raindrops would slowly go away, but the sound and the rain effect on the floor and cars would stay. This has now been going on for a few (real life) hours now.

I could only find one person that had a similar issue, but that thread was only bumped by the OP, asking whether he really was the only one experiencing this.

Anyone know what to do?

Just save and reload your game. Fixes almost every issue.

I have reloaded the game multiple times by now. If it were that easy I would not have created a post here.
I have now installed the Weathermancer mod to manually change the weather. What ends up happening is the following:

1. When I change the weather to rain, it rains as expected, but after a minute or two, the foreground rain disappears. Everything else stays.

2. When I change the weather to sunny, everything disappears except for the things I mentioned in the OP.

Weird. I've had that bug but it stopped the second I reloaded the game, haven't had it since either (but I could just be lucky). Glad the mod worked for you.

I can imagine that reloading might fix the issue in some cases, but for my case unfortunately not.
Also the mod did not fix the issue, it just highlights the problem that the rain effects are completely screwed. Validating game files doesn't do anything, so I will now try a reinstall (edit). Let's see what that does

reinstall did nothing

installed weathermancer to set it to rain at all times. that caused the weather cycle to return to normal, even though it wasn't supposed to 💀💀

i was glad that it was back to normal, but the 2.13 update broke everything again 💀💀💀💀

the Roy Batty rain bug that was supposed to cause rain to stay forever also doesn't work 💀💀💀💀💀💀

Did you solve your problem? I'm having that exact same issue

Mods are the only option apart from save reloading. If save reload doesn't work, it's use a mod.

Unfortunately not. I even contacted CD Projekt support and they just blamed the mods and ignored that I told them that the problem existed before I installed any mods. If you tried the same stuff as me then I don't know anything else to try.

One thing you should consider is what upscaling solution you are using, aggressive upscaling or framegen can sometimes hide small transparent effects like raindrops.

But If even at native with no framegen those raindrops don't show up then its probably just the game.
