GunPlay Just Feels Good
It's hard to explain, but the guns (animation, and sound) really pack an oomph. Probably one of the biggest reasons the game got 8/10 on reviews despite some obvious Ai issues.

It feels like trash.

The gunplay should work like VATS in Fallout 4 since your cybernetics are supposed to be doing the aiming and firing.

You were using the wrong gear and the wrong build for that.

I say this because I have been using a build where the cybernetics have been doing the aiming and firing (when I let them).

No. The Smart weapons are not a replacement for the auto aiming and targeting that the cybernetics should be providing. The cybernetics should function exactly like VATS the moment you have a cybernetic eye and palm. But they don't. The cybernetics are completely worthless and only provide minor bonuses even at end game.

The game should not have stats. It should only have cybernetics. The only way to improve your character should be by upgrading your cybernetics. Instead in a gameworld focused on cybernetic augmentation the devs made cybernetics pointless and arbitrary meaningless stats be all that matters.

gun play is ok ye, the stat balance is off but but the core is all there. looking forward to trying out smg, ar or sg next play though.
Some of the guns feel really good to use that's for sure. The shooting, the reloading. So mechanically satisfying.

Shotguns and the revolvers are the best in the games.

definitely a strong point in gameplay, base guns feel solid. not a fan of smart weapons aiming for you tho haha.

I started appreciating those more after realizing that I'm gonna kill anything I aim at the face with anyway, so might as well see what they offer. And they're pretty fun. Get a lock on, point up, fire away, watch the bullets curve down into their heads. Shoot around corners, behind cover.

I know tech weps will shoot THROUGH the cover anyway but it's the novelty of watching the bullets curve lol.

And using the right Smart gun it will lock onto multiple targets.

Gun models look good and are well animated. They have weight to them and the sound is good. The problem is around replayability.. again. Mid game onward even on very hard difficulty you can clear rooms quickly with almost no challenge - sure that is cool for awhile, but get's old very quickly. When you throw in quick hacks on top of that, it is as if you are an unstoppable god. So if you avail yourself of what the game has to offer the challenge diminishes quickly. Ok for a first play through, not so great after that..

I thought the gunplay was the worst feature, has it been changed?

The gunplay is the only vaguely good gameplay aspect that the game has. The weapons pack an oomph and feel great to use, especially the shotguns (I freaking LOOOOOVE the Carnage shotgun), but since the enemies are so bullet spongey, it just makes the gunplay feels worse than it is.
