Help needed to describe bug (Rectangles in Steam and Fog)
Hey. The worst graphical bug I always encounter are errors when steam is displayed. There is a lot of steam in this game, so it is pretty annoying.

Problem is, I couldn't find any help, because you know, googling "cyberpunk 2077 steam bug" doesn't narrow down the problem AT ALL. So I hope the community can help me to identify this bug, so I can try to troubleshoot it. I will post the answer in the thread.

Here is an example:

It looks worse though, when I am moving.

- nVidia GTX 2060 mobile
- Raytracing Medium
- everything on Ultra settings
- DLSS: Performance (But also in Quality and other)

up to date drivers?
Anderstein Jan 15, 2021 @ 11:52am
For the nvidia gtx: yes, absolutely.

I clean installed Windows 10 on the 08. January and installed ALL Windows updates and drives. Right now I double checked, whether all drivers are up to date and apparently they are.

It was like that from the start. Changing graphic related options in-game can't change anything. I tried all kinds of variations of DLSS, fog, volumetric steam and so on. It happens for good quality, it happens for best quality, it happens for low quality settings.

have you tried to verify game files via steam?

I had this exact thing happen to my game. Once I rolled back the Nvidia driver update the the Windows Store installed invisibly, everything went back to normal.
Note that I'm playing this game on all low settings due to the age of my CPU and GPU - i5 and GTX970. Other than a few visual bugs, the game has been playing great for me.

Can you state the version of the driver, please?

The version for my GPU is dating back to 12/08/2020

Thanks for the hint. I did this, but there was no error.

I had this too first time I booted up the game. Updating my drivers fixed it.

Thanks for your help to all of you. I rechecked everything again thanks to your suggestions I found out something I didnt know yet. The recommendet drivers for my laptop model aren't the most recent.

My driver number was (pre installed and found by Windows Device Manager)
- NVIDIA Graphics Driver 452.06
Win 10 consistently claimed, that this was up to date. It wasn't.

It was actually this one.
https://www.nvidia.de/Download/driverResults.aspx/169144/de

After installation the blocky clouds were gone.
