Shotgun range

Guys, which shotgun in the game has the longest range and the most slugs in a single full load ? is it like in real life, where shotguns can have rifled barrels or be modded with chokes to narrow the spread of pellets ?

there are scopes that make range better for shotguns, if they have slot for it. most have a slot for scope and a slot for another mod.
there are so many different types of shotguns I not even used them all.
If I use 1 it mostly one that has pump action + 6 slugs, cause I like old'school
with a scope it can increases range significantly so it have sort of same range as a normal pistol.

Biggest mag size is prolly Crusher with 12 shots. It also has a good rate of fire and whole mag is reloaded fast like in an assault rifle. If you mean the number of pellets in one shot... don't know, it differs from gun to gun. There is one shotgun with 'slugs' (no pellets,. but a single slug per shot). I cannot remember the name, but it is iconic and the blueprints can the found near the 'Piez' restaurant.

You can add a mod (if there is a place for mod), which narrow the pellet spread

I don't know if I'm imagining this, but Carnage shotguns have always done well at medium ranges to long ranges. Rebecca's shotgun especially seemed to reach quite far with its effectiveness.

However, be aware that you have 3 weapon slots. The best way to use them is 1 short-ranged, 1 long-range, 1 medium-ranged weapon. Have the shotgun for close range, a throwing knife or sniper rifle for long and any weapon of your choosing for medium.

The Headsman is a slug type shotgun, so you can use it for medium and long range on shotgun builds.
