MODs
Was wondering if most people use mods? I got the game on sale finally as i heard its actually in a good place. I have installed maybe 20 to 50 mods. Cant remember but i have a bunch. So far it seems to make the game way better. I wanted a mod that when you break an item down you learn its crafting forever. So you can kind of collect items and weapons as you find them. Never found 1 sadly. Only just mods to unlock all crafting, but than your list of crafting is massive and a pain. I did get mods to keep any car you stole. As well as full care upgrades and so on. Just curious what mods every one else loves.

After the first playthrough yeah. I did. Now that it gets less updates too it's a bit easier to mod as well.

Less game breaking updates if you're modding.

TBH, the game doesn't really need much, a lot of people just use graphical or QoL mods.

I recommend the one that gives in world guidelines for map markers and the flashlight mod.

There's some good car mods and cosmetics too for cyberware and what not.

The flying car one is a lot of fun but you'll find yourself not traversing as much like they intended and it turns into a "point A to point B" simulator pretty quickly. Personally I think that Night City is a character itself and traversing it is part of the appeal.

Anyway, mod all you want, or don't. I think the vanilla is fine. I'm doing a vanilla playthrough right now and it's plenty engaging.

Just basic stuff...CET, Fixer's Hidden Gems to wind down a playthrough. QoL stuff - Better Loot Markers, Hide Read Shards, Vehicle Customiser, Informative HUD Quickhacks Memory Counter, Quickhacks Sort by Slot, Native Settings.

But yeah, as Chaosolous said, nothing wrong with a completely 'nilla playthrough either (especially if your last couple was with a bunch of mods).

i lasted maybe 30mins when i got the game, before i went to get some mods lol.

having said that, it was not like this was my *first* playthru.
i had watched the whole game already on a no commentary via youtube, so i knew what i was/was not getting.

it was a walking mod.
to stop V constantly going back to their default jog every time they changed areas (and the areas seem to be tiny, there is like, 3 parts to your damn H10 apartment (bed/shower/stash)
if you use a controller or are on console its fine, you just tip the stick to walk and push it all the way to jog i think.
but keyboard we have a 'walk/jog' key but it was every few seconds i was having to hit it.
i was pi**ed.
so i fixed it with a mod.

then i grabbed clothing swaps (because i couldn't get the ArchiveXL/TweekXL to work back in 1.6 lol) the Metro Mod, mods to give me stash tabs, mods for save names and filters, mods to clear up the glass and plastic.
when 2.0 dropped, i backed up my 1.61, cleared everything, upgraded and backed up 1.63 legacy then upgraded to 2.02. modded that to my liking.

but i haven't tried the huge overhaul mods like Enemies of Night City, Hardcore or Stealthrunner just yet (tho stealthrunner is making me consider backing up my modded 2.02 and uninstalling/reinstalling to 2.13 on my G: drive lol)

vanilla is okay, but vanilla+ ( a few QoL mods) is better, at least for me.
(i'm just a clothing hoarder. and since i look GOOOD in game, i like to wear stuff i wouldn't dare irl as it would never fit me XD)
