Braindance mission?? Find chip/relic thermal thing confusing mess.
Am I missing something here?
I've tried to play this game a couple of times and each time I've given up at this precise point (I'd forgotten just how frustrating I found this the last time I played).

Importantly - Is this an actual mission or is this VR braindance thing a training for an actual future mission? Do I have to do this mission to continue the game? (and it won't let me out of the VR helmet).

Anyone found this mission easy because I find the blurred visuals mixed with the time manipulation thing and the different levels of perception boggling.

Is this braindance stuff a big part of this game? I like the idea in concept but dame it's annoying. If I give up the game again, I doubt I'll ever go back to it, which would be a shame as I've only played a couple of hours each time I've tried it.

The braindance you're talking about is prep work for the job you're hired to do - stealing the relic from Yorinobu Arasaka's penthouse. In it you explore the memories of Evelyn Parker to see the layout of the penthouse, find potential threats like where the security systems are located so that T bug can neutralize them, analyzing whatever information you can take from Yorinobu's phone call and most importantly, finding the location of the relic itself - which is hidden away.

If you have a hard time figuring out what to do, even after completing the calibration braindance (the little tutorial) with Judy then you can watch youtube videos to help you with that.
Just search "Cyberpunk 2077 - The Information braindance"

The use of braindances in Cyberpunk is very minuscule. There are only 3 main quests that use them and a few side jobs.

They're very easy (and I think fun) once you know how they work, and like asarokk mentions there are very few of them.

It's interesting how different preferences we all have in games (which is good!). The brain dances are among my favourite things in the game, and I wish there were much more of them! I've since looked up other games with similar mechanics, for example 'Tacoma'.

I understand there were supposed to be a lot more braindances originally, but they were left out, both because of time constraints, and because many didn't like them, if I've understood it correctly?

Anyway, it's a great game, so I hope the few braindances don't prevent you from enjoying the rest of the game! :letsgo:

Appreciate the help.
I do think the braindance concept is very interesting, but I don't enjoy it in practice which could simply come down to dark obscure blurry colour and visuals, throw in some multi level, sound, vision, heat, design on top of a cumbersom movement system, and complete overload. Anyway cheers. I'll give it another go.

Those who are telling it is easy, has done multiple play-throughs. Though its not that complex. when you play 1st time it takes time to figure it out. In the subsequent play-thoughs, it becomes very easy but it looses the mystery element.

See it as a 3d recording with visual, thermal and audio layers.
It all make sense then and if not you probably the type of cyberpunk that also cannot park his car properly :steammocking:

There's not a lot to figure out. You watch the Braindance play out to see everything as is, because the editing mode will only show the most relevant information and admittedly not clearly either.

Then you enter the editing mode to find all the clues by scanning the environment and switch layers when necessary. Every command you need to use is listed along with your keybindings.

Movement follows same principles as a free camera, except you must stay within a certain distance from the Braindance source (Evelyn in this case) and you cannot exceed the parameters or boundaries of the footage itself (it is as if nothing else exists outside of the location).

If you are having a difficult time with this mission there are walk thru videos and written walk thru directions on the net...........................not hard to find just use google.

The Information braindance is the most complicated one in the game. I find the best way to handle is to replay it a few times right from the very beginning to search out all the clues. Do play through the braindance tutorial of the convenience store robbery.

Listen carefully to T-Bug's instructions... first, listen to the phone conversation between Yorinobu and Hellman. Then follow Yorinobu to the bedroom and scan the tablet he puts in the drawer beside the bed. Finally, go to the thermal layer detection to find the hidden safe. . There are other things to scan but they aren't necessary.

There will be other braindances in the game to search for clues...none of them are this complex. Just be sure to play them right from the beginning (there's one that tricks you in the first few seconds) and rewind and replay them until you find all the clues.

I often let the dance run trough once so all those bars get activated in the various layers. Then it is just a matter of rewind and filter out all the bars per layer. Do keep in mind, just because a bar shows a start does not mean the thing you need to scan is at that start point. Some items showup more in the mid of such a bar. Just keep pressing play and stop and take your time too look around. These dances are not that hard once you know what to expect like the scanable item showing up somewhat mid of a bar. I hope this makes it more clear for you but if not, i am also on discord under this name and feel free to ask more questions if required
