double jump if you want to explore
modded, you can get both
But the ability to double jump outweighs anything else for me, so I'm using those. So many places in the game where they're handy to have. The freedom!
Ahem... Anyway, one of the stats for the Lynx Paws is "reduces sounds from movement by 50%", but I think the "visibility to enemies" stat is more important. You can get that down to minimum (which I think is 1%) by rolling that stat when upgrading cyberware.
Might want to use proper sneaking shoes, though (sneakers?
I haven't given too much thought to movement sound in the game, come to think of it, mainly 'invisibility'. But I do use some fancy quiet netrunner shoes.
And regarding the extra speed of those Lynx Paws, I find that with all the movement perks I'm already moving faster than I'd like when I'm crouched, so I don't miss that extra speed either
The fall damage reduction is redundant, and the jump speed/distance is better than crouch speed.
In some cases, it's the difference between stealthily attempting to take out all the foes until you get to your objective, or stealthily jumping over/around them without anyone seeing you.
NCPD will probably start shooting you like they do for everything else ;-)
I notice there are different sounds of your footsteps depending on the shoes you're wearing (and when you're barefoot, which is noisy), and since those Lynx Paws have a stat that says "reduces sounds from movement by 50%", I assume shoes are relevant. Not 100% sure, though!
I'm using some netrunner boots, but maybe the best way to find the most quiet shoes are try them on.
I used Johnny's boots for a long time, but after the reunion concert I stashed all his clothes and went for items more suited for netrunning
Pretty sure that's just a matter of sound effects and not actual noise reduction unless whatever shoes/boots you're wearing say otherwise. If it the type does actually have an effect, then it is far too little to be meaningful.
