Any time critical missions?
I know the main mission even though ti seems like it, isn't time critical, but are any other? Can something fail or have a different outcome if you don't show up immediately?

Cause almost every mission i get, people are pestering me with "don't make me wait", someone's in a snuff ring and may die if you don't find them immediately, etc.

Are those just flavor or can missions take a different turn if you don't immediately follow them?

There is a couple. First one is start of base game act II and is a side quest.

Barry in you apartment. If you put it off, it will still progress. So if want to address issue yourself, cannot put it off

Second is with Phantom liberty and the start of it.
If you start the opening quest chain, but then go off and do something else or ignore it during the opening parts? Eventually can get a mission failure.

Most are fluff. I suspect that devs originally wanted timers, but is jus too much to do and would have ended up being a punishment for players.

Edit: I have had numerous dialogs pop up involving taking too long getting some place, but no consequences it seemed.

Open-world game design trade offs....no point in making a world full of everything and then punish the player from "going off the beaten path". It's a bit immersion breaking anyway for a heavily story driven game like this particularly with the "imminent threat of death unless you act urgently".... and then completely ignore that and go off in the world.

There are also some that if you get to a certain point in the mission and then go off and do something else the mission will fail and it will sometimes block later questlines.

Once you get to a certain point in the rescue Saul quest for example, if you leave it will end the quest Saul will die and Panam will be angry with you and it will end all the future questlines.

These aren't timed before you get to that point in the quest but if you abandon it part way through thinking you can come back it won't work. Most of these you will get a call from the quest giver asking where you are going before it fails the quest tho.

Thanks!

And thanks for the spoilers, i did the first one, that one even had a timer if i remember correctly? I don't have phantom librety so i'm ok on that front.

In any case, ok, cause i wouldn't like it if the missions are timed.

Goro keeps pestering me "meet me here" but i had another mission that seemed "urgent" already, so idk... I think they went a bit overboard with the urgency of the missions. They're either "COME MEET ME NOW, RIGHT NOW" or "this is happening right now, if you miss it who knows what'll happen *wink wink*".

And i assumed they're all just for the atmosphere, but it's good to know i can take my time exploring the city.

They did make a lot of missions seem extremely urgent and missable if you don't act "NOW", but it's good to know there's no actual consequences for taking your time.

Well, i'm doing missions one by one til they're "done" so to speak, so idk, i think i won't be going off mid mission.

<Love Rollercoaster> - quest in Pacifica, if you find Evelyn Parker, quest mark disappears.
<Balls to the Wall> - quest in DogTown, without spoilers, when something happens in main story, this quest becomes unplayable.
<Beat on the Brat: Rancho Coronado> - better do it first, until gig <For My Son>, cause you haven't troubles with this quest.

Just did the Lover Rollercoaster! :)
Idk if i got the second ones, but i'm not that far into the story yet. Only just recently got Keanu Reeves in my head, and did i think 1 or 2 story missions.

yeah

in Phantom liberty, if you are too slow at the start you fail the whole dlc.

i mean you dont need to deal with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that happens there

Well, i'll definitely buy the DLC at some point, but not just yet. :) For now, i'm having a blast discovering the world without the DLC! :)

And if the DLC brings in some new items and skills or whatever, i'll just end up confused, i'm still figuring out where exactly to invest points lol, and what guns to use etc., i don't need more option paralisys.

hmmm but not buy it too late, because dlc bring one additional ending possibility, if certain condition arise while play dlc main quest line.

It's looking like this game is going to be on my yearly replay list, so i wouldn't worry too much.

It's insane how well detailed the world and characters are, i'm enjoying it very much! So i'm sure i'll play it more than once, and if i don't get the DLC now, i'm gonna play it again for sure.

And in about 10 years when ray tracing is not a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on every GPU except the 2000€ one, i'll replay it with raytracing too hahahaha! :D

hahaha and please notice, that even 4090 cant keep up with Path Tracing without turning on DLSS :D:D:D even @ 2560 x 1440 resolution (some calls it 2k resolution).

One more not mentioned yet. If you want to help fulfill the Scorpio's last wish, it is very time limited. It is unlocked after the "Riders on the Storm" mission and must be done before "Queen of the highway". The side mission marker is visible in the Aldecaldos camp

That's why I said in 10 years hahaha. By then they'll probably figure it out lol. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Well, one thing about the DLC is that it fairly seamlessly integrates. Perk tree remains the same etc. It just adds stuff that is introduced as you do the DLC. The whole package is designed so you get it, it adds to the game without needing to relearn a bunch of stuff.
