Did they remove FLAC format soundtrack from Bonus content???
I swear to god I remember clearly that there was FLAC format and I just downloaded and there's only MP3 format...

And here I am wondering, why they haven't included FLAC.

there was flac, mp3 and wav versions back before 2.0 yes.
if you made a backup of the whole folder back in 1.6 days (before 1.6.3 legacy) and had downloaded the 'bonus content' folder, you might still have that.

Not sure, if this works for the soundtrack too, but you can roll back to 1.63.

yeah, i made a backup copy of that, but i'm not sure where the download would go.
(i cleared my mods, upgraded to 1.63 legacy. copied the folder to another ssd drive and made sure it worked. but i never downloaded the 'bonus content' before upgrading to 2.02. so i'm not sure if that would download to the main cyberpunk folder like it used to, or would be in your steam music section, which is where the folder downloads to now)

You just need a sound editor to convert the MP3s to FLAC, or whichever format that you want.

FLAC is loss less. MP3 is not. What do you think why people want to have FLAC?

Sure, but I take it that you didn't read what I wrote.

A sound editor can convert MP3s to FLAC. I do it all the time.

You can only rarely buy music in FLAC format. Most music is sold in MP3 format. The only fix for that is to convert it with a sound editor. There is no avoiding the loss except to have it originally in FLAC format, but you can retain most of the sound when you convert it from a MP3 to FLAC.

The loos of quality is the reason why I want FLAC, there ain't no reason for most people to convert back to mp3.
But how should the conversion from mp3 to FLAC give back quality, the quality of the data is already lost.

No. It’s on the official website. Can’t you just google “cyberpunk 2077 flac”??? Not difficult.

Download the flac OST here:

That doesn’t actually make any difference though.

It’s like artificially re-rendering a native 720p video at 4K resolution. Sure, your final rendered video will have a resolution of “4K” but your source video (which is actually what matters) is still at 720p.

MP3s 'converted' to FLAC or any other lossless format sound horrible because the source you're working with has been compressed to all ♥♥♥♥.

Don't do it.

'Most music is sold in MP3 format'

Lulwat ? It's 2024, bruh...

There are just too many lossless audio formats being promoted at the marked.
So, none of them is able to kick MP3 out of first place.

Also if you listen to flac you better study what audio codecs your bluetooth devices support if you don't go for wired headphones/speakers. As you will lose a lot of bitrate this way and negating the increased sound detail in flac. This was something I discovered a couple of years ago when I decided to buy my first pair of wireless headphones.
Synopse Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:00am
Listening to FLAC just using the onboard sound also have a similar effect in degrading the quality.

Unless if you live in a country with heavily censored internet, there is no physical difference between my internet and your internet. If I can find it online, so can you.

and I still think it's their fault for removing without stating about it.

You say that like you're owed the .flac soundtrack as if CD Projekt is paying a debt off to you.

To put it bluntly: You're not owed it. Most companies are all too happy to sell you their OSTs as a separate purchase (as is their right since it is their creation). The fact that you even have an option to download the original soundtrack in a lossless format is rarity in itself.

There's that old idiom that you've no doubt heard of: "Beggars can't be choosers."

And for the record, they relocated the bonus content (which includes the OST) to their website as a separate download to save space on people's hard-drives/SSDs.

Yes, I am very grateful that they give the soundtrack away but don't you think they should let the people know by posting any kind of news about it? Plus on the storage record. like, wow. for real? it's less than a gigabyte. For that kind of size it would make sense if it was 90's

Its okay. I only use flac at home with my wired speakers or headphones. maybe I will buy a DAC. I've never tried external DAC cuz on board DACs on motherborads nowday are so good
