What are your GPU temps when playing?
I have been playing with everything on MAX with raytracing disabled and I usually get 80º celsius playing at 1080p on a RTX 3070, it is the higher temps that I have seen so far compared with other games that I have played.

Is it normal?

seems normal my old 2060 super got around the same tempertures sometimes even 83 degree my new 4070 stays cooler around 75 max but it has an oversized cooler ^^

The RTX 30 series was known for running on the hot side of things but imo 80 is still high assuming that's core temp. To give more information the 3070's GA104 has a max core temp before it begins to throttle of 83c, max hotspot temp of ~95c (can't recall exactly) and GDDR6 has a max of 100c. While it shouldn't currently be thermal throttling it would typically be preferable to have a bit more thermal headroom than what you currently have. For reference, my 3080 ran at ~73c on the core at most after I fixed up EVGA's bad paste job (which might be similar to your issue). My 4090 runs ~65-67c on the core.

80 is fine, 70s is much better, above 85 I would start looking at better cooling or at least checking your air flow.

Mine never goes beyond 67c. But I use MSI Afterburner's fan curve. Since I use a noise cancelling headset, I don't hear the "turbine engine" spin. lol

I just upgraded to a 4070, from a 3070. Boy, the change was insane.

I ran Ray Tracing on medium, and had the suggested settings from Digital Foundry, which were mostly Medium and High. I got about 40-50fps most places, dropping to 30(lowest i think was like, 27FPS) in places like Jig-Jig. I didnt monitor the temps too much, but 170F(80C) sounds exactly right.

Now the crazy part.

With my 4070, im now running absolute MAX settings, 1440p, full ray tracing ultra, with all path tracing on, and im getting 60-90 FPS with like a 80fps average. But somehow, its staying at like, 130-140F(54-60C).

I once had my 3070 hit more than 190F (90C) playing Dying Light 2 lol. I quickly adjusted to fix that.

Thats nearing the boiling point of water...haha.

Anyways, my conclusion is that the 3070 just likes to run hot. lol.

4070 Ti SUPER here it never goes above 60c for me. I have the MSI Gaming X. I have Ray Tracing maxed and most settings maxed at 1440p.

No, your old 3070 probably needed some dust cleaning and new thermal paste.

I have an RTX 3070 Ti (rest of specs in profile), and according to the monitor app GPU Tweak 3 the temps vary from 68 to 72 deg C when playing this.

I play at 1440p with most settings on max, RTX Ultra, DLSS Quality, and frames capped at 60 fps in Nvidia control panel.

60-65

on my 7900XTX, overall temp's recorded at under 60C. Hotspot temps at 77C, and GPU memory is usually around 75C.

Have MSI Afterburner set to a modified fan curve, so fans max out when overall gets to 60C.

capped at 85fps, everything set to Ultra + Raytracing (Ultra, With all Raytracing options set to on) @ 1920x1080.
Sometimes it will drop below 70, but that is usually downtown (where the holo fish are), but otherwise it's generally stable.

I have adjusted the Afterburner fan curve telling it to use the fans at 100 percent when the card reaches 65º and it seems getting better, but I am not used to hear the fans at that speed and I keep having the paranoia that the card is going to crack or something.

Opening the card to clean it and renew the thermal paste is something that I woudnt dare, I dont know anything about it, if the card goes bye-bye I wouldnt be able to buy another one

resolution 2560 x 1440, all maxed + path tracing with forced DLSS Quality turned ON, card 4090, soft cpuid hwmonitor pro, gpu average 60 degree celsius, max 70. Video memory avrg: 79, max 84. Hot Spot avrg 68, max 75. GPU utilixation 54 - 100%.

64 C most of the time on 4070 with fans around 1700rpm, game maxed out

My GPU sits around 50c while the hotspot sits around 70c that's max setting at 1440p RT off with no FSR, My GPU is undervolted with a custom fan curve.
