Game is very CPU bound.
Just FYI... this game is incredibly CPU bound and that's a huge part in why most people see bad performance with a good GPU.

Just to give you an idea of how much it's CPU bound.

Know what’s funny?

I loaded up arma 3 a little earlier, which has been known to crush CPUs and GPUs.. 80-110 FPS depending on what is being rendered on high/ultra.

And Bohemia games aren’t the best optimized things in the world either.

Guess CP2077 became the new “but can it run crysis”

43% on my CPU.. 99% on GPU

Yep, I'm running in 1080p. Unfortunately don't have a 4k monitor yet.

99% gpu, 40% cpu.

I wonder if this has to do with them turning off AVX for intel chips.

Found that in the options. if you turn down crowd sizes..it helps..thats probly whats doing it mostly on these CPU's is all the AI running around

not at all, i tested it on 2.8, 4 cores, and 4.9, 6 cores 9600k, difference ~7 fps.
maybe you have software interference, like antivirus or defragmentation? always remove these softwares or they will prevent computer from functioning.

depends on what processor, gpu and resolution you're playing at.
tons of articles out there showing the performance of the game with changing parameters.

Nah I was getting 90% or higher on 1.04. Managed to bring it down to around 75%-80% and 99% my gpu.

But 1.05 broke all that for me. Now I’m at a horrible fps

I'm only seeing 20 - 50% on my Ryzen 5 2600x, and 100% on GPU like its suppose to be :p

those on 4 core chips or less are the ones complaining, they had plenty of time to upgrade

Its not CPU bound my computer has a CPU way below minimum requirements and it still runs. There are issues where some CPU are not functioning properly while running the game at all. Meaning the game isn't properly using the CPU Resources which is crippling performance on those particular CPUs.

Yea, I noticed my CPU useage is often over 50% on a 3950x which is a 16-core processor. Not that I have any idea what the game is using all that CPU power for.

Weird my cpu doesn’t sweat at max with no ray tracing 60% all core usage i9 9900k
Omega Syrus Dec 19, 2020 @ 9:46pm
CPU usage scales with fps. On my 6700K, CPU usage hovers around 70% on all threads. If you aren't at 100%, you're not CPU bound.

The better the GPU you have, the more likely you'll hit it though. If you want to see the game become CPU bound, just set the game on low graphics and lower the internal resolution of the game to 50%; it'll give you a rough idea of what your fps cap is due to your CPU.

I'm running a 1070 Ti and playing around 55-60 fps at 1080P.

Weird, running on i5-6600k and it's 62%, while my video card is 33%
