Quest Dream On - Need a little help, or is this a bug...? (Mostly Spoiler Free)

Hi guys,

So i am having an issue with the quest Dream On... I have gotten pretty far into it, and im pretty sure i know what i need to do, but i think the quest has bugged out for me and im hoping someone has found a workaround...

So, im up to the part where i need to meet to Jefferson (the dude) and the marker takes me to some seats above a park, however Jefferson is not there and as far as i can tell there is no place to sit and wait like is some other quests... Ive watched some vids and im def in the right spot and im standing on the mission marker...

Jefferson is supposed to sitting on the bench waiting for me but he is simply not there haha...

...Has anyone had this bug and found a workaround...? Im trying to finish all the side quests before the 'point of no return'...

afaik NPCs being at specific places in the world occur at certain times of the day... no idea when this quest was supposed to be done, but I did mine around noon'ish (whats-her-name mentioned she freed up his afternoon meetings)

Hmm ok - Im check what time it is when i go there next time - cheers for the suggestion...

...So i went there a little after 12pm and he was still not there - i waited around till 4pm or so and he was a no show.... It seems its bugged out and hopefully it will get fixed next patch...

So i'll bump this one last time for now... hmm i guess not many had this bug... looks like i might have to wait till the next patch and hope for the best...

Hey Vonbleak, you've probably already found out how to get it working, but just in case you haven't, here I am. So I had the same problem as you. The reason I had that problem, is because I am using the fast travel from anywhere TO anywhere mod. And when I arrived at the meeting place, Jefferson was not there. So I loaded a previous save game, and didnt fast travel anywhere, instead I used the face travel point, and Jefferson is now there.
I think the bug happened because before you meet him, there is a cut scene where some random guy calls you and intimidates you. Hope this helps!

Ok thanks for that - unfortunately i dont use any mods - and i am still having this issue all these months later lol... Thanks for trying to help though dude...

Try to call him (I don't remember if it's possible to find him in his house to talk to him directly), to trigger something.
And I guess you can't reload a save point before this part of the quest without losing a couple of hours with other quests, because reloadind normaly work for most of these kinds of bugs.

Yeah i cant remember if i have tried calling him - thats a good idea... And yeah at this stage id rather not load a much earlier save and have to redo a couple of hours... Its been so long, im prob just going to wait until all of the dlc is out then just do a full new second playthrough, so hopefully i wont get the bug on a new game... Cheers man

For anyone finding this, i triggered the bugby fast traveling from anywhere to anywhere.

After some experiments soution tzrend out to be going back to the sushi bar, then exiting and traveling from the nearest fast travel spot to a fast travel spot near the quest,, when i was approaching the meeting spot, the call triggered. I did temporrarly disable the mod.

I wanted to confirm that I had the same issue with the fast travel not allowing the phone call to trigger. I went back to the Ramen Shop near Jig-Jig Street or Cherry Blossom Market. Once inside, I switched back to the side job, Dream On. Left the ramen shop, got to the street and drove the entire way. Approximately 40-50 meters from the destination, I got the call warning me to back off. Jefferson was in the correct location for me to continue the conversation and complete the quest.
