that's like saying Assassin's Creed recent releases should be GTA too coz it's the gold standard in openworld mayhem.
they did but they scrapped it. dammit. ^_^
Pffft Casino's are so early 2000's, gambling in games is all about lootboxes now, get with the times.
You see you can't compare an action game for children with a full fledged open world RPG wich in fact has all those juicygame mechanics action games will never have.
GTA5 was fun, but padding all those side activities onto it for no reason detracted from the experience rather than adding to it.

GTA is the perfect game to compare it to.Cyberpunk was marketed as a game where you steer your own destiny in an open world, RPG elements aside here.
GTA's story is a very good one. anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves, given it also spans 3 playable characters that also interact with each other outside of the players control.
Cyberpunk was marketed as an open world game, not a story driven game and one where you can "Shape your own destiny" as long as you follow a set path laid out....
If CDred didn't want you experiencing night city outside of the story lines, they would have locked the city away.
The fact is, people want to be sold a lie that the game they are in, especially when it was marketed as such, is going to be immersive.
Instead we have a very good game, with not very good a world to interact with.
Hell i cant even sit on any of the many available seats to just take in the sight of the city.
There are vendors dotted around everywhere you cant interact with. even if its just buying a snack or Drink.
the AI is dumber than a box of rocks. try and defend it all you like saying "its not a game like that", when thats exactly the game they tried to say we would be getting.
But the hacking minigame in 2077 is something that some real life hackers actually do. (When working with machine language, compressing it by taking advantage over how stuff can overlap can make the difference between an attack failing or succeeding.)
Of course, it's utterly "toy hacking" -- and it's still just a minigame. But this is a small example of currently unappreciated depth in the game.
Sure you can prefer gta over cyberpunk but just stop comparing those 2.
that bit sarcastic. yeah, GTA online is nothing but a microtransaction milking cow.
