Beat on the Brat: 100% broken
So is anyone else having trouble with these completely ridiculous fights?
I've done the first one against the two "clones" but since then, I've tried the Arroyo fight and The Glen fight and each time I'm being KO'd in one or two hits.....

These guys punches go straight through and ignore my blocks and counters, if they push me, not punch, PUSH me, I lose 200 health which ends up with me being down to 240 health, then I get pushed or punched and its all over. I only do about 1-2% damage to these guys as well, what!?

I'm mostly a melee/unarmed build and I just get whooped. How the ♥♥♥♥ are these missions even possible. The danger is moderate on the journal as well. Is this a bug or something? I've found no one else having this issue

did anyone fight them with a melee build and if so did you only deal 1% damage?

because I believe that most people fight those fights without going into melee and the necessary cyberware

I am a melee build (I have mantis blades, not gorilla arms) and I've focused on unarmed too but still just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and doing little damage. Furthest I've gotten was The Glen fight where I got him to 36% using dodging and heavy attacks, I dodged into a rubbish bag pile and that gave me 200 damage (great) and then he locked onto me and that was it lol.

Had no problems completing them. Just stand still and parry every punch.

good luck parrying special attacks...lol

The thing is I have been dodging, but their attacks lock on and I get commando launch'ed MW2 style and its all over.

Very very very stupid design with these fights. I'll just leave them til I'm level 50 or so I guess

The attack ranges are crap, and yeah the 'snapping' is annoying. Depending on their moveset, 'dodging' sometimes means being almost out of their range to begin with and then sidestepping that last little bit. And i-frames are unreliable at best, if they even exist, sometimes it seemed like just hit boxes being confused.

I beat the final fight around 40 I think? And the other harder ones (Arroyo, etc) somewhere near 30 I believe. With no investment in melee whatsoever, so for you it should be relatively easy around or before then.

At first I thought these weren't possible without brawling skills and extreme tankiness, but no - it's just idiotic all-or-nothing style scaling.

how high is your body and how many perk points did you infest into melee?

For what it's worth, i'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue.
Like others have mentioned, I have been considering getting Gorilla Arms to help, but fighting Buck in Arroyo, even level 24....is some BS.
You can almost stun lock him with gorilla arms using repeated charged punches. The arms really make all the difference.

I had no issues until the fight.with the champ. You have to block and counter everything and even then he has so much HP it is a slog fest. First time i just took the dive. Loaded the save and actually managed to beat him like 30 minutes later and 100 heals + tons of stamina buffing items. Its not worth it. Take a dive.

OP I think the Arroyo and Glen have a fairly high level requirement it seems. Frankly I just ignored them til I was like level 25.

What I did for the Glen was this:

wait for the Latino to start his dash, double jump straight up (no movement just following him with the aim) as he approaches me. He'll miss his punch. When I drop he's still staggering, I'll give him 2-3 strong punches. Move away. Then wait again for his dash to start the cycle all over again.

Glen have two safe zones too where you won't be attacked so you can catch your stamina.
1. Underneath the basketball ring.
2. On the recliners near the fixer.

The Arroyo is a way easier, tho there are no safe zones and the arena is tighter. Key here is to be AGGRESSIVE.

What I did is strike at him first with a strong punch, followed by 2 more, retreat and regain stamina. As he starts approaching me again, I'll give him a strong punch, followed by 2 more strong punches again.

My build is a Katana-Shotgun, no Gorilla Arms LOL so it took me a while to chip their HP but hey it works.

I beat them at level 2 with 3 body and no perks on very hard. It was tough and I had to learn the ropes through trial and error:

1. I focused on defeating one brother first.

2. I abused the corners like others for stamina regen and counter attacks, waiting for one of them to charge when i move up just a little. If it was the brother i'm focusing down I will go on the attack after counter, if its the other I save my stamina by just hitting once and dodging away to get ready for next brother. Repeat.

The best corners to switch between I found are the entrance to the fighting area and the farthest corner. I tend to not lose sight of each brother that way and I think that gets you the most space to get the right brother to charge).

3. When both brothers attack at once or one comes in right after another, counter the first then just chain dodge out of the way (Usually takes three dodges to get out of the way of the last backfist). When doing this you want to dodge to the opposite corner.

4. Make sure you mostly use heavy attack when short on opportunity which can stun the other brother too.

5. Sometimes its better to just dodge kicks. I find them harder to block with low stamina for some reason or when one brother is close to death. Maybe just pressure or I stop reading the kicks right. Also keep in mind that frames effected my fight too. I was playing a long time and noticed I wasn't countering any attacks when I should. restarted the game and voila: I was able to counter and won on first try easy.

6. When a brother comes charging in and stops to taunt you, didge forward to hit him with a heavy attack then go back to your corner to get stamina back.

With the regen perk you should be able to kill these guys easy with the above strategy, because you can wait for your health to return to 70%ish if you get hit badly. I didn;t have this luxury. :/
