he's here only to be used as a device for the plot but feel awkward after a bit.
did u see dragon age origin make a big marketing campaign/trailer specifically just on background? no, cos they are just background, with occasion story telling varies.
skyrim's race selection even has more impact on its gameplay compares to cyberpunk's life path.
cpdr made it sounds like life path is an actual big thing in this game, but sadly its not.
jesus christ, 300 million O_O
i saw better games made by small indie devs. i don't know why they stick to that buggy game engine of theirs, when there are so many good options though. just like bethesda and their ancient engine.
I like Keanu as an actor and a person, but having him as major feature in a PC game just seemed like a distraction or diversion for me. I'd much rather see a developer's resources directed towards the relevant aspects of game development, such as game art and the game mechanics.
This game claimed to be ground breaking, but it doesn't introduce any ground breaking technology to the genre. For example, when you consider the application of deep learning today, one possible route for video games to go with that is using it to create autonomous behaviours. It can't be too difficult to use it for vehicles, surely? It could also be used in dialogues with NPCs. Literally hundreds of applications. This is just an example of a the kind of thing I would consider ground breaking in a game.
As an actor, he has my respect and admiration, he is a fine actor.
Games industry are now bringing hollywood inside games because video games surpassed hollywood already.
TLDR: Keanu didn't ruin cyberpunk, the Devs ruined cyberpunk by putting all their focus on Keanu.
The 2018 proof of concept showed that your "mentor" could have either been Johnny, Morgan Blackhand or Saburo Arasaka. They probably realized they can't make 3 games in 1 so they just focused on Johnny being the central character and took Saburo out of the picture amusingly, you could have written the plot in a way that Saburo still gets killed by Yorinobu but it's his engram which is stored in the chip instead of Johnny's
And you see what happened to Jackie. Disappointing, he was the best side kick in the game.
