Romanced River Ward Bug

I'm playing the PC version on a high end rig. My character is a female V that's romanced River. The romance itself went fine, but it's been buggy ever since. I got the "hey if you want to leave stuff at my house" text, but even though his place shows up as a safe house, can't store my gear or sleep on the bed. Mirror doesn't work either. Also, any time I try to call him on his cell it rings a few times then hangs up. I'm assuming this is a bug, because man, being ghosted by an NPC is rough. The bug has persisted through multiple reloads of the game, which is usually how a lot of these bugs are fixed. I've googled this to see if anyone has had this issue, but all I come up with his walkthroughs to romance him. Nothing about anything after. Any one else running into this bug?

I've tried calling, and one time I saw a brief menu with about 6 or so different options for dialogue during the call, and River's voice said "Talk later babe." which promptly disappeared... so I think there is definitely some kind of bug happening, and not simply a badly written and abrupt quest ending.

Same for me; I call and I get a "stay in touch" and then hangs up. Even if I swiftly try picking one of the conversation options, he still hangs up.

i upgraded his gun and it bugged into a quest item and now i cant put it back on V's wall ;(

Same thing is happening for me. I have 220 hours now and the amount of bugs in this game is just infuriating and I am trying to 100% the game, and I've already had to restart three times due to quests bugging. I really, really hope they fix all these bugs so I can have one play session without wanting to quit.

You cannot sleep in the bed. use the mirror or shower but there is a small chest there that you can store items in. It is not connected to your apartment stash though, it is totally separate.

As for upgrading the gun, do not do it right away. Wait a little while and do some other missions and wait for him to call you after the romance scene. You can then upgrade it normally with no issue.

Also same bugs. Try to call River, he says "Talk later, babe." and hangs up. Try to call again, he doesn't even pick up. Either resets when I visit the trailer park or when I sleep, can't tell which, and it happens all over again. Kids are stuck standing in their beds, staring at the wall, Joss is no where to be found, and River only seems to be sitting on the steps to the porch, and doesn't appear to be walking around. I've received texts from both River about storing stuff at his place, and Joss about how Randy's doing, but regardless of what I do (save, load, exit the game completely then start back up), nothing seems to work.

The phone system is completely borked, which sucks because each major character has reams of dialogue and comments on stuff V has completed that can be missed. I could only call River when I was in the same "zone" that the trailer park is in for some reason.

Also I could only get Rogue or Kerry to answer the phone when I was in Downtown Center.
This resulted in weird double audio and temporary character models of the speaker appearing on the sidewalk behind me. If GOG had a simple screenshot feature like Steam, I'd have shared some images of floating Rogue and limbo-king Kerry...

windows key + prt print you can take a windows screenshot for future reference ;) You can also add any non steam game to steam and use overlay and take screen shots too.

also if you dont complete his quest... he gets jailed for arguing with a guy about the farm stuff and calls u in the credits about that

The judy Romance is quite good. Nothing much to talk about. Only some messages where you answere something that sounds great and V decided to make an awkward Situation out of it. The River Romance drives me crazy. CDPR gives the female players this man and then we can't talk or message him. I can only talk normal with joss, but tbh, i dont want her xD

I have all the same issues as you, even through a second walkthrough. So i hope its a bug.

Oh, idk if you saw it. The morning after the romance scene, i found a note on his PC. He searched for a tutorial for the meal He made the day before. Pretty cool cause you can talk with him about the meal while cooking and He is like "oh Yeah, family reciepe. I love to cook!". I really love this sort of detail over npcs. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CDPR. Let me talk to him like to a person i date... :/

Well, other romances aren't really different. You get a chest at their place, and static lovers with 3 lines staring at you creepy. Never tried Kerry tough.

Judy has the best messages and sends stuff to your apartment, also if you call her she has few lines where you can tell her the advancement in your main quest. Still it's half backed.

Considering the ingame time that passes between the single night sex and the end if you do a bunch of side quests... never felt so alone in a videogame. They could have have just repeated the same sex scene for the sake of the player that cared in a lil immersion, it wouldn't even be new material.

This is the only thread I have found that addresses these issues, and it's July 2021... The fact that the phone/River's stash hasn't been fixed sucks! I hopped back into the games and pushed the gig/quest bugs out of my mind; wanted to experience more gameplay. Stumbled into River's quests and romanced him, now this. Like a previous commenter stated, I've never felt so alone in a game LOL. Compare all of Geralt's trysts and the amount of time you can spend with LI's in the Witcher games... Makes me sad tbh. I'm not sure if I want to keep playing, or wait for another 7mo's to see if this ♥♥♥♥♥ will be fixed or not. (I own the game on GOG.)

have not done rivers romance, done the other ones, and there is no noteworthy dialog after the romance scenes, you sure its a bug and not just how they wanted it to be?(the kid thing staring at the wall sounds spooky and buggy though)
