Gigs, don't seem to randomly generate. Police anything, yes.

Gigs spawn based on your story progression and your street cred, they are however finite. Gigs can also later turn INTO side quests after completion, because characters from gigs might contact you for a sidequest at a later time. These are basically get the McGuffin quests (with storyline written on a shard)

Side quests are finite, I am not sure what spawns them exactly, but I know some gigs can turn into sidequests later. Sidequests are deep, fully fledged out side stories, some of which will tie back into the main storyline.

Then you have the police missions, those are radiant missions and will just randomly spawn as you are traveling the map, to my knowledge they are infinite.

Yes, you can clear them and no, they don't respawn. But there are a lot of them. I'd say about 20-25 hours.

What!?!
I have wiped the map CLEAN except for a few cars I have left to buy and the takemaru meet up mission.

Maybe I need to do the takemaru quest for them to start constantly showing up??
My map is pretty much clean.

Update here: Not even even police stuff is randomly generated.

Only thing randomly generated is on the minimap, the police badge, when an NPC is assaulted.

No respawning Gigs or Side Quests makes the implication that, until a New Game+ is added, that loot becomes increasingly restrictive as you advance. Feel sorry for anyone going down the crafting skill tree.

This is shameful design, and feels lazy. If players are resilient enough to slog through the barrage of bugs, broken mechanics (stealth), and poor AI (cops), they're "rewarded" with a non-existent end-game. Want to farm Legendaries? Better hope you get them before you clear your map!

Iconic weapons are not "random drops"
They are SPECIFIC drops and crafting recipes for killing specific NPCs, completing specific quests, buying from specific shops, and/or exploring specific locations on the map and finding them...

You will never get an iconic drop "randomly"

From what I have seen Iconic weapons are going to be the only weapons that matter end game anyway...

Maybe but you have to give it to them, the fact they're making a MP version of the game, possibly even an MMO size game is very good for the future of super fans. if it's bigger than red dead online and gtav online with roleplaying, tough missions for groups and tons of class/customization i will be super happy and will get to continue my love for this game endlessly.

I have high hopes on the MP version of this game and for god of sake i hope you can play it in "singleplayer" mode.

THIS

and i also know why ppl think they are randomly spawning, this has 2 reasons:

1. new sidequests and ncpd stuff appearing based on your street cred level (the green level), sometimes on top of your screen when u get a new street cred level it tells you that it also unlocked new quests

and 2. the ncpd scan stuff (the blue quests, not the yellow ones) are partially story-linked (inside, not with mainstory). i figured out that the victim and/or one of the suspects has recorded dialogs, and these dialogs are leading to new ncpd scan quests. Thats why it looks like they are randomly spawning and the problem is that u can see the connection beetween these ncpd scan only by the dialogs, there are no other hints on the map or so that different scans are story-connected.

so, when u you do blue quests and dont read the dialogs, then it looks like to you they are appearing randomly.

Some side quests only show up when you are at certain point in main story line.

Nothing in this game side content respawn everything is finite if you try to do 100% at some point you will run out of content and the city will become a walking simulator.

Pacifica has become the last bastion for enemies fights to sell items they drop.
