"revealing your position"
That's all I got from the message I received, I was hacking some criminals and someone started tracking my position. I don't know if I missed a message on how to deal with that. Anyone know?

i dont think it ever impacted me. It either triggers based on a hack you do, or a hack they do to you.

not sure what it accomplishes, as most times before the bar gets to 100%, everything is already dead

It's probably a Netrunner enemy or something, since all enemy groups are connected in the same network and hurting one of them with a quickhack might allow a Netrunner enemy type to track you or something, but really I don't know what causes it either.

It happens to me most of all when I inflict Cyberpsychosis or Suicide on someone, I've noticed.

Maybe it's just a side effect of using quickhacks or something, a little bit of excitement to nerf being able to use Legendary Ping and just infinitely hack high level enemies through walls until they're dead or something.

One if the enemys in your area is trying to hack you ... if he is succesfull every enemy knows your position ...

The only way to deal with this is to get rid of him first ...
the hack will run through but without revealing your position

what it does is alerts enemies in the area of your location, hence they rush towards you and you are in combat mode. so, if you were like, stealthing around and silently taking out people or messing with them, if enemy has a netrunner they can try to reveal your location.

it doesn't work always, as to why i don't know as about many things this game does wrong or weird, but this is my experience with that particular mechanic.

if you wann stop the revealing location process, you are supposed to find the netrunner hacking into you and either kill or stun him in some way. then it stops. though sometimes it stops "just because"

Ahh, well, I can't tell who's doing it because I'm hiding and killing them off slowly with attacks. I'm never able to identify all of them before I start either...

yeah... i believe the idea was (if i remember correctly the tooltip) is that when you get hacked - hacker gets highlited on the map, even through walls. but sometimes it doesn't work. and when it worked, hacker is usually so far away there is no way to get at him

Ok, maybe that happened, but I didn't know to look for it. There's so much sh*t on the screen, it's hard to tell what's going on.

i stopped caring after a while. if i absolutely wanted to stay stealthy i either ran far away during hack (then apparently it doesn't alert enemies) or just reload save

I got that message as I was sitting on a roof quick hacking some thugs, I went about my business and nothing ever happened, they never came for me or shot at me. Maybe they didn't feel like climbing? lol

Mostly you missed basic game mechanics since there´a skill that lets you track enemy netrunners which they use...

Enemy Netrunners will show as orange, instead of red when you Ping enemies. I think the pop up screen is bugged sometimes, because I've seen it appear even after neutralizing all enemies in the area. A few times it will pop up, after I've hacked an access point.

You can easily identify all of them at the start with just a simple ping, even standard quality. Doesn't alert enemies and shows you (for a short time) where all of them are. You can even get the standard one for free as soon as you get past the prologue.

Yeah, a perk is not basic game mechanics. I just found it as my level increased. It was not available when I asked the question.

Appen a lot to me, killing the netrunner dont always stop the scan. But when its reach 100%, nothing appen, the enemy dont look to know where I'm.

And i notice with the perk to see the enemi scanning you, if is far aways from you, it dont show up highlithing. Only the directional arrow is showing up at long range.
