how to upgrade weapons to a higher tier?

i got the perk that let's you upgrade the quality of weapons. reading the description i thought i could upgrade green weapons to blue quality, blue to purple and purple to legendary.

but either i don't understand the perk, or i can't figure out how it works... :)

the only things i can convert are crafting mats. how do i convert a weapon?

It's on the top menu. There are two buttons. Crafting and Upgrade. It really doesn't worth tho. You have to level it up multiple times to meet your level, cost way higher than just crafting a new one.

BTW this is the ad hoc "transmog" feature that people were begging for (and which was already in the game). It's insanely costly though.

that perk is for the upgrade button, not weapon tier.

you need to find *tier/iconic weapons if you want to improve the tier.

for example: rare/iconic - crafting yields a rare tier weapon. at the same time, said weapon becomes craftable at the epic tier. craft it again at the epic tier and legendary opens up...

Upgrading doesn't upgrade the quality, just the stats. You can only upgrade the quality/tier of Iconic weapons.

You can only do that on iconic weapons. It is in the crafting section and the lower quality weapon is one of the materials used in the crafting process.

I think the perk says weapon components, if you look in crafting after this perk you can craft components. Using lower ones to make higher ones.
