Beat on the Brat is just stupid
seriously, who the f thought "oh, what if the player need to keeps punching this dude for 6 minutes straight to win but only take two hits to die? wow that seems so fun"

that's the most stupid quest in this game, the difficulty is so ??? because you have to do a perfect run for 6 minutes to beat these guys or take just 2 hits and try again

sometimes you punch an enemy and he just keeps dashing towards you, and you can't even do a thing because you were trying to punching him, and guess what, block a hit? oh nonono

it's just stupid

It wouldn't be half as bad if the melee mechanics were better but Cyberpunk's is far worse than even Dead Island.

Would not expect Geeky McTechnerd to win a fight against a seasoned streetfighter either.

If you aren't specced for fistfights, maybe that quest is not for your version of V

Or am I missing something?

This is the real answer to the OPs post. Maybe actually spec into fist fighting before complaining.

If you are a hacker with no points whatsoever in fighting can you win the fights too. Epic Overload Hack has a passive that triggers on crits. When you crit you cause Overload to the enemy.
With the perk that hacks can crit did I strike up to 5k damage ever so often.

Its still stupidly broken if you got nothing else to use.

i believe it's far standard animations for a game like this, they couldn't and would not deliver us a FPS devil may cry, as you would expect. take as for example fallout melee combat or doom, at least they gave us some "glory kills" could've been more diversed of course:seriousboss:

tl;dr If you're having troubles with Beat on the Brat - most probably it's not because you're bad, it's because you're severely underleveled.

A reasonable answer.
But no, you don't need full Body/Street Brawler spec to complete most of the fights.

6 Body (which you may need anyway for some guns), 4 perk points (1 in Athletics - Regeneration, 3 in Street Brawler - 2 Dazed, 1 Rush), Kerenzikov (5 000 eddies, overall useful) and some jars of stamina booster and cheap soft drinks for stamina regeneration are enough.

Actual problem is the fraggin' upscaling. I tried to fight Rhino on lvl 18 and my damage was abysmal - about 100-120 for strong-fast-fast combo, barely worth 1%. Then I got pissed, made a save and then cheated myself lvl 50 (Body still 6, perks - aforementioned 4). Tried Rhino again. She still hits like a truck, have to give her that, but my damage went up to 1000-1200 per strong-fast-fast combo. Checked El Cesar - the same, just have to be patient and get to know his moves.

I skipped them. I have no points in body and I didn’t expect to beat them

xD

You expect to beat a professional boxer having invested no attributes or points into actual fist fighting?

To be clear, it CAN be done, but no it's perfectly acceptable to expect someone who HASN'T invested into the body tree and street brawler perks to have a hard time completing this series of missions...

i am playing on hard and i realized i fought rather under-leveled. took half an hour, i never got hit because if i did i would die. by save scumming and sheer will i won but it wasn't fun, in fact i was starting to think it was glitched until the guy finally dropped.

Exactly. Not sure why people assume they should be able to win boxing matches without actually being a trained boxer.

Do you literally not wear any clothes? No points in armor? Are both of your arms broken?
i'm also playing on very hard, my clothes are like, 180+ armor and it just take 2 hits to flat line me
i've even tried upgrading some body skills but it's useless in level 9

180 armor? There's your problem. Since my early level 20s I've been sitting on at least 1300 - 1500 armor.

How? I'm level 39, and have the best armor I've found equipped, and legendary sub-dermal armor, and I still only have between 600 and 700 armor.

The damage scaling in this game is very, very stupid.

I first tried the Arroyo fight as soon as it opened up. Fought the guy, he downed me in like 4-5 hits. I thought, everything else gets easier as you level, I'll just come back later. I'm now level 35, 400ish health, and over 600 armor. He two-shots me. One hit brings me down to critical health.

It would be a lot easier if attacks were telegraphed slightly better, and if dodging actually worked. I can dodge 5 feet out of an attack's visible range, but it will still hit me because the hitboxes and/or something else are wonky.
dodge buck a lot and do heavy punches, be aggressive and watch if he tries to counter, dodge then punch.

You mean the Kabuki twins?
They're fairly easy if you just watch how they move.
Zeria Dec 17, 2020 @ 8:30pm
For the one with the car you need to stay away from him, if he fights close you are rekt. So he charges you block and hit him then move away again, it does not take very long with enhanced fists... You don't even lose a single hp...
