Is anyone enjoying the game on an HDD?
Hello, Im planning to install the game again but my SSD is filled with ubistuff games, AC Valhalla, and Fenyx Rising and other crap.. Would HDD suffice for this game. I know it recommends and SSD but if performance is the same, i might just put it in the slower drive

thanks for your time

Hi,
in game architecture, the drive where you put your files change the loading time for assets etc. In some way, a faster loading of assets in real time can improve your FPS.
In conclusion, if you are not worried about wait 1 minute ( than 10 sc in SSD ) in loading screen and have some little fps drop / cap , yes, you can play cyberpunk in HDD, did i recommend it ? No, i love fluidity :) but it's still playable.

I've got it on HDD, it's perfectly fine. Unless the game is designed very, very poorly or you're short on RAM the only thing it'll affect is initial loading times. Takes about 30 seconds for me.

I've played cyberpunk on both an ssd and an hdd, and aside from the initial loading screen into the game world I noticed very little difference between the two.

it's okay on an hdd as long as your other specs are good.

Loading times are much faster on ssd. And there are less texture glitches.

Yap, I only have an HDD and the game runs fine for me on my Old system. I also still have Win 7. (Game runs fine on Win 7 once you set the game's compatibility mode to Win 7)

My experience is exactly the same.

^This too.

Although my system is old, my Ram is overkill with 32 GB 3333mhz DDR4 and you should have a GPU with at least 6 GB Vram.

Thanks for your insights, i will try to install it on my hdd, also I kinda feel like the game for me doesn't deserve my ssd space haha..

Just my experience, but I played my whole first playthrough on a laptop with it installed on a 7200 rpm HDD, and it ran just fine. I'm running it on an NVME SSD now, and other than much faster load times (when starting the game and during fast travel), I don't see a significant difference in performance (pop-in seems about the same). I've been running it since day 1 in slow HDD mode though, don't know how much of a difference that makes (but I've read that it improves performance even on an SSD).

make sure you toggle "slow hdd" mode in options then.
