Stop Autotracking Quests

Is there some way to stop the game from Auto-Tracking the next quest? I don't want to do the final mission, but every time I do a sidequest it automatically forces the next quest. Yes, I know I can untrack the current quest, but I'm asking for a way to stop autotracking. I shouldn't have to go to the menu and untrack every damn time.

What I find much worse is that every time you get a call from a fixer, the quest tracker changes to the one just given.

I'm playing a similar way. Though I've not felt i have a problem with it so far. After completing anything, I always go to the map and find something at the other side of the map to maximise driving distances.
