So, about Pacifica...
Is Pacifica meant to make me racist? Like, I go there, it's the worst state of any district, highest crime. Walked out the back of a butcher's shop and there's a local shooting into the air with an automatic rifle. Then you've got the boogey men Voodoo Boys...
I just feel like Pacifica was wrote by someone from 4chan.

It's funny, don't get me wrong, and shooting them up is fun but still.

you're overthinking it, you probably grew up in a place where everyone was like you, not very diverse. You're in Northumberland which is 97% white. What's the biggest town, Blyth? 25k people? most smaller towns across the world don't get a lot of variety, in America, when you are in school in your developing years, most only ever see but a few african-americans, asian-americans, hispanic-americans and that's about it.... I hate lumping people into categories but outside cities that's just the way it is. In a lot of places it's just like Northumberland, 98% white, regardless of their ancestry.

people who grew up in cities have a different perspective, and it's just common sense that people with similar culture, language, and beliefs tend to form communities; have you ever been to London or NYC or any large diverse metropolis with a 5+ million people crammed into a small geographical area?

city life isn't for everyone, it's never quiet, it's never dark, there's crime and violence, but for some of us, any place with less than 250k people makes us click the safety off and white-knuckle our sidearms. You drive by a church on Sunday and see the whole town there and your skin crawls and you get nervous, it's freakin' Children of the Corn town!! (probably the same way they think of cities.)

my point is that our life experiences are what controls our perspective; while actual racism is easy to spot, perceived racism is just that, you think it's racist, then it's got to be racist, yeah?

re: "shooting them up is fun" I can't agree more! hopping out of the ice tank and just laying waste to those gonks is one of the best feelings in the game, regardless of what they look like. Betray me, will ya?! When you get upstairs and outside, you pause and take a breath. Whew. That was fun! :moxes:

Lol if you see shooting VB as racist then i think you are issue here. Why is shooting black people any different then shooting white people or asian people?
Usually people who are racist think about these things like how you think;

No, that isn't the thing. You missed my point.
Pacifica is controlled entirely by black people. Pacifica is also the worst place in NC to live.

Actually its not. If you think about Dogtown, that part is mostly populated with White People, that is the worst part of NS. Pacifica outside Dogtown is nothing different then any other part of NS.
I just dont understand why people always see thing through skin color.

I feel no more racism when killing VDB's (which is actually rare outside the main quest anyway) then I do when dealing with Tyger Claws who are Asian or Maelstrom who are white.
I'm also pretty sure I have killed way, WAY, more of the aforementioned groups in the rest of Night City then VDB's in Pacifica.
Pacifica has one fixer quest and it involves the Animals, not sure how many NCPD jobs there are but again, very few that involve black people or VDB's (none?, not sure)

So how you get to the conclusion that Pacifica is designed to make you racist is beyond me.
