Photo mode worse than launch?
So, back when this game launched I could take absolutely stellar screenshots with the photo mode. Now, they are all coming out awful. Ads load in all pixelated and blurry, and if I actually allow the photo mode to take the shot instead of using something like Geforce Experience, they come out inconsistent, blurry, blotchy, and just overall ugly.

What gives?

No idea, works fine for me?

Do you have RT "use path tracing in photo mode" on....if your hardware isn't actually capable of it and the denoising fails you WILL get pretty bad images.

I have tried it with path tracing on. With it off. DLSS on and off. No matter what I do its just not what it used to be. Not for me anyway, and my hardware has actually improved since when I first played. Im on a 4090 oc edition.

Other than the usual suspect I have no idea. That is:

1) get rid of mods
2) clean install of gpu drivers
3) verify game files

I don't use photo mode myself, but maybe you can compare your shots to the latest ones posted in the screenshot thread:

Blurry? Must be Ray reconstruction or Depth of field. If you're taking photos via in-game photo mode it renders it at full resolution, there's no need to tweak DLSS settings.

I can confirm the blurry ads. I use photo mode a lot now and I noticed that in some cases, some ads look very blurred out while others look nice and sharp. Like as if it's using the lowest resolution image and stretching it out to fill the frame. Everything else looks great, except the ads and I'd have to sometimes reload photomode 3 or 4 times for the ads to look normal.
It's a minor bug that needs attention because it does ruin otherwise fantastic pictures you can take.

I use a 1080TI so no RTX and I don't use mods yet. This is probably an engine related issue (only speculating) and hopefully CDPR can fix it, along the dark grey Caliburn bug (that occurs on the white variant) in the next patch update.

Yes, it is the most annoying problem - need restart photo mode a lot times to get ingame advertisments screens are loaded.

Turned both of those off. Turned dlss completely off. When I press the button to take the shot, the entire screen seems to try and re render or something. I could take the same exact shot 8 times and get completely different looking screenshots.

That's what it does. It doesn't matter if you have DLSS or any other thing enabled - it will still render full res screenshot without upscalers. As for them being different - there are lots of dynamic lights shining around and even slightest flashes or dimming lights might add additional light info into the picture. It's not like it works exactly like shutter speed in cameras but it still caps lights for a small amount of time, mostly to eliminate jugged lines caused by upscalers or AA (remember, TAA is active by default if you disable DLSS).

i noticed some new bugs with it that didn't used to be there involving rotating the camera in ultra wide resolutions.

The problem is that this full render often looks like a mess. Weird blotches, sometimes it looks like scan lines, muddy textures, etc. Its just ugly as hell.

I am on an ultrawide. But when the game first launched I was on ultrawide and had no issues. So its new behavior. Well, new to me anyway.
