Very OP and fun builds are:
Blades build (with Katana on top and mantis blades being still good but on the lower end of the stick and that's only because they require to zoom around a lot and it's not for everyone)
Shotgun build
Pre 2.0 i played a "Rebecca" build and had a lot of fun with it, really a good build, to me the only one i had more fun is the good old Katana Streetrunner build.
Crit revolver Gunslinger. Wanna be Johnny? this is another fun build, if you have good aim and hit a lot of headshots/weak spots, this is a tons of fun.
Slightly below but still great to play are any other build.
I'd say Throwing Knifes and Gorilla arms are probably those a bit under everything else, still very viable don't get me wrong, but they require more skills or/and gear to be on the same level of the others.
Overall, i think you will enjoy a lot a shotgun build, it give lot of nice bonuses, like the knowdown and you can basically not even aim that much as they hit a large area.
I Really love dashing and airdashing so reflexes is pretty much core for me.
That being said, what you should consider is this: Who do you want your V to be?
The Nomad will make you a wild monster, smashing into combat with the most brutal and viscous weapons, often literally tearing your opponents apart with your bare hands. You will be loud and violent, so it would feel weird RPing as a demure, sensitive, reserved V. It would only make sense to be a wildman in all arenas of life.
The second build would be be the most likely path of an actual NC streetkid. You cant afford nice shottys and assault rifles as a punk teen, you gotta steal your old man's hand gat. It also fits thematically for the more Johnny-centric endings. You'd likely be almost worshipful of Johnny before even pulling the heist as an NC icon, and you'd probably wanna do all JS quests.
The third build is interesting, because it paints the portrait of a quiet killer, someone who likes to handle things personally and up close. The kind of person who'd charge through a hail of bullets to kill the one gangoon stupid enough to call you a coward mid-gunfight, just to prove him wrong before slicing him in half. Its someone who isn't satisfied living and dying purposelessly, a person of action and immediacy.
Overall, I've played them all and they're all fun, especially when you immerse yourself in their though processes. When it comes to planning what weapons to use and iconics and so forth, I'd have to say that A) you'll be fine, you don't need to rely on high end gear nearly as much as you might think. B) Carrying the same gun/sword/etc through the whole game makes it YOUR iconic, the one some other poor sucker would find on your mangled corpse in 2087 and realize he's holding the weapon that stormed Arasaka Tower. I really don't think you need to be worried about having specifically iconic weapons to be effective. But if collecting them is a special interest of yours, try to think of them as meaningful goals to reach as you strive for Legend status in the cold streets of Night City. I'd also say a lot of the builds won't necessarily need you to max cyberware and Tech, but really whats more fun than being a cyberfreak? Whatever you end up doing, it's gonna be bloody.
1) I got the tower ending because I roleplayed against Johnny, now I want to do the opposite
2) I played a Corpo Netrunner full stealth, now I wanna go full throttle and totally avoid stealth and Netrunning (as operating system probably gonna choose Sandy)
3) since V iconic weapon is itself a gun (and Johnny iconic too), I will most certainly go for a full Cool build to also get the most out of dialogues, since in my first playthrough I saw a lot of dialogue options related to cool. Most certainly I'll put in there Reflex too for movement and more dialogue choices and Tech for cyberware
Thanks again and have a nice Sunday <3
This is the exact same thing I wanna try next. Shotguns with Gorilla Arms. :)
yeah the downside about being cool is that you will pick pizza with avocado and artisjok.
I was like what what what did I just order????
*restarting mission.
Artichokes on pizza isn't bad. I tried it recently. Avocado instead of pizza sauce sounds pretty interesting. I'll have to give that a try sometime. Thanks for the tip.
