(I think Halo driving feels best on M&KB funnily enough, but then again drivers rarely shoot in Halo so I understand the need to decouple mouse from wheel turning if you plan on having the ability to shoot & drive at the same time)
But surprised how well the cars turn on a dime! Seems "arcadey" in a way, but I'm fine with that given the alternatives (never opted to drive in a Crysis or Far Cry game, usually feels awful, always go on foot above all else)
Playing with a i5-11400H 3050RTX with the Nukem DLSSG-to-FSR3 mod with uncapped fps in game but capped vsync 60fps in NCP and and it's felt good, you can force Reflex + Boost in the "C:\Users\-----\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\UserSettings.json" file like so:
EDIT: but I am still in early game, haven't done races so I don't know if this is a case of an "easy-to-learn-hard-to-master" situation where I'll discover that I'll need a lot more skill and better vehicles to beat some race.
If you have to use a car, the best handling cars are the Caliburn (there's a free one in the tunnel) and that black one you get from El Capitan after you steal your first car in Phantom Liberty. Claire's truck is fine in the races. The rest drive like ♥♥♥♥ to varying degrees.
You can rectify this by getting the free Murkbille or whatever it is called which is the fastest car and has stellar handling, and supposedly some motorcycles as well.
Cars in Mafia 1 are faster than in here. I mean the game is brilliant but why did they have to do this?
On some cars yeah.. Others are better.
Remember that "Beast" weighs over 4 tons, as Claire tells you, and if you look at the mass rating of it, it's in the 4k range, meaning that most cars in NC weigh much more than cars IRL. Some of them weigh 5 tons+ LOL
Even the tiny little car weighs almost 2 tons..........
With my controller, most of the cars are fine. The Delamain sticks to the road pretty well no matter what, as does Streetkid V's Archer. The many Type 66's handle awful though..
Some people may not know the story and be coming to the game fresh, so you might want to put a spoiler tag in your post. Could ruin a big moment otherwise.
If not? There's the car modification mod that addresses these issues. My only issue is that cars are slow in this game, even with the modification mod but that's got nothing to do with the controls lol
Nah. Use a controller, and try the cockpit view if you're having trouble cornering.
No argument there. The Archer Hella is a terrible car. The suspension is so soft i suspect it may be constructed entirely out of gummi bears, and the A-pillars are so fat an Aircraft carrier could hide behind them.
Worst car in the game. I'd trade it for a Mai Mai or Galena in a heartbeat.
