Anyone else feel like the vehicle controls for this game are terrible?
Also theres no Nvidia reflex for this game which sucks. But the car controls feel so delays and slow. Good luck making any turn at all without your car smashing into the sidewalk. Is there anyway to fix this?

i think the driving is okay (if not good). each car has their own handling. have you tried better cars? it might be just that one car's handling thats bad

The first car you get at the start of the game feels terrible. It just ruins all the driving in the game for me

Yes, the driving controls are really bad. I don't mind it too much but it definitely feels floaty.

unfortunaly thats true, i think its moderately okay since its a free beginner car. anyway if you want a free better car, u can get The Hoon (its a tribute to Ken Block) slightly after getting into ACT II. another free great car is The Caliburn which u can get after completing "Ghost Town" and reach lv 40 Street Cred. i think after trying those 2 very good yet very different handling cars (one technically drive as a normal car and one like a rally car thats always drifting) driving should be easier

I was dreading driving as a mouse & keyboard player with no controller at hand, as I tend to find most games make WASD turning feel awful.
(I think Halo driving feels best on M&KB funnily enough, but then again drivers rarely shoot in Halo so I understand the need to decouple mouse from wheel turning if you plan on having the ability to shoot & drive at the same time)
But surprised how well the cars turn on a dime! Seems "arcadey" in a way, but I'm fine with that given the alternatives (never opted to drive in a Crysis or Far Cry game, usually feels awful, always go on foot above all else)
Playing with a i5-11400H 3050RTX with the Nukem DLSSG-to-FSR3 mod with uncapped fps in game but capped vsync 60fps in NCP and and it's felt good, you can force Reflex + Boost in the "C:\Users\-----\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\UserSettings.json" file like so:
{ "name": "ReflexMode", "type": "string_list", "is_dynamic": false, "value": "Enabled + Boost", "index": 2, "default_index": 1, "values": [ "Disabled", "Enabled", "Enabled + Boost" ] },
Haven't had any problems with "delays" or slowness or such.

EDIT: but I am still in early game, haven't done races so I don't know if this is a case of an "easy-to-learn-hard-to-master" situation where I'll discover that I'll need a lot more skill and better vehicles to beat some race.

Just get Jackie's motorcycle at his funeral and use that. It handles way better than any of the cars and you can squeeze through traffic with it.

If you have to use a car, the best handling cars are the Caliburn (there's a free one in the tunnel) and that black one you get from El Capitan after you steal your first car in Phantom Liberty. Claire's truck is fine in the races. The rest drive like ♥♥♥♥ to varying degrees.

Yes, the controls for vehicles are bad.

You can rectify this by getting the free Murkbille or whatever it is called which is the fastest car and has stellar handling, and supposedly some motorcycles as well.

I'd say the controls themselves are okay, the big issue is that the inputs are way too sensitive and vehicles themselves have basically no weight to them. So anything more than a tiny nudge will practically make you do a u turn and even hitting a small object can potentially it go flying.

Worst thing is that you actually drive just half the speed that is indicated.
Cars in Mafia 1 are faster than in here. I mean the game is brilliant but why did they have to do this?

The brakes are just so weak XD

On some cars yeah.. Others are better.

Remember that "Beast" weighs over 4 tons, as Claire tells you, and if you look at the mass rating of it, it's in the 4k range, meaning that most cars in NC weigh much more than cars IRL. Some of them weigh 5 tons+ LOL

Even the tiny little car weighs almost 2 tons..........

With my controller, most of the cars are fine. The Delamain sticks to the road pretty well no matter what, as does Streetkid V's Archer. The many Type 66's handle awful though..

Some people may not know the story and be coming to the game fresh, so you might want to put a spoiler tag in your post. Could ruin a big moment otherwise.
Buy better cars, use modded cars, i just installed the Testarossa mod, F40 mod, Audi RS6 mod etc....

I use a keyboard to play and I find no issue. I can't accelerate softly like you can with a controller but aside from that, it's fine.

If not? There's the car modification mod that addresses these issues. My only issue is that cars are slow in this game, even with the modification mod but that's got nothing to do with the controls lol

Nah. Use a controller, and try the cockpit view if you're having trouble cornering.

No argument there. The Archer Hella is a terrible car. The suspension is so soft i suspect it may be constructed entirely out of gummi bears, and the A-pillars are so fat an Aircraft carrier could hide behind them.

Worst car in the game. I'd trade it for a Mai Mai or Galena in a heartbeat.
