I don't know that it requires a lot of driving, because in truth you could do most of your traveling using the fast-travel system and the Metro, if you wanted.
But there are missions that do require driving, so you coulden't completely avoid it. You would have to do some driving in these missions.
Thanks for the quick responses.
And regarding 'mandatory' driving, I first played (half) a game as Nomad (the lifepath), and there was a lot of driving involved in the beginning. In my new game I'm playing Corpo, and there were no driving involved. Not sure about Street Kid life path.
There aren't that many missions where you have to drive, if I remember correctly, and you can skip the racing missions, I guess. But they were also very easy if you hack the other cars by remotely enabling their handbrake, for example. You'll never see them again
Personally I love driving in the game, though, and never use fast travel. But there are fast travel points everywhere.
You can drive. You can also use unintended gameplay mechanics to move around NC. Think of it like Rocket Jumping with Vehicles, or using Air-Dash to surf.
Mmhmm. I would definately recommend parking your car or automobicycle every once and then, and just going for a walk, see what you find in around town.
Honestly this is true in all games that features driving, it always sucks with Kb+M, and it is always better with a controller.
But the degree to which it sucks with Kb+M does vary a bit, with some games being suckier than others, and this game is definately twords the suckier end of the spectrum.
You CAN however buy a knockoff X-box controller for next to nothing these days, and the game can seamlessly switch between Kb+M and Controller usage on the fly, so it's a problem that is very easilly solved.
I just realized that this is actually a first person POV game; not sure why I didn't know that before. So, as interesting as it looks, I'll be passing on it; I only play 3rd person games.
game has a handful of missions that require driving. the other 90% of the game is up to you how you get around.
think of it like witcher 3... most of the time you can just run and don't need to hop on Roach and attack from horseback, but there are horse races, and a few missions where you'll never catch the mission target if you don't ride... similar mechanics.
driving can be fun, but we can't tell you what you'll endure vs what you'll enjoy.
