Open Door hack
One of the first things you learn during the Sandra Dorsett mission is to open a door using a cyberhack. But later on I never used it and thought that you needed high Technical or Body to open locked doors. However, I remembered that you could do Open Doors and have managed to open doors where Tech or Body didn't cut it. However, a friend told me that this hack doesn't work on tougher doors. What are the limitations of Open Doors, and can you do anything to improve its limitations, if any?

It's hard to say what the limitations are...the ability to hack doors via cyberdeck seems relatively uncommon. But if you find a door you can't open with strength (Body) or Tech because your level isn't high enough, it's worth checking with your scanner to see if you can hack it.

It would be interesting to know if the tier of the cyberdeck, or the RAM, make any difference.

There doesn't seem to be any such logic to it, I think. It seems pretty random, or rather scripted I suppose, depending on the mission and / or location. They might want to have the door locked for 'realism' reasons, but make sure everyone is able to open it with the different builds.

thats right, although here are doors wich you can open only by body or tech requirement, and deck not help, thats reason why i rrise my Tech attribute to 20 and body to 15 + legendary Gorilla arrms 6 =21, so i walk over almost every possible door.

Most powered doors or their Keypads can usually be hacked, some higher tier or mission areas may require you to have a higher Intelligence build

So any Cyberdeck or Cyberware that adds to Intelligence total may contribute, will head over to my ripper & have a look once I'm back in NC, but first me & Panam gonna take the Floaty tank for some more field testing

Well it seems the Open Doors hack is only good for low-level doors. I haven't been able to open any doors that way for a good while. I mean doors in the 7+ Body/Tech requisite.

It seems as well that they don't want you to open most doors. Tech and Body doors level with you, or better said, ahead of you. They are almost always out of your reach. By the time you reach level 40 or so, all doors you find are level 20. You have to max tech and body if you want to be able to open locked doors. Not worth leveling all that if your only objective is doors. This used to be my only reason to level up Body. By reaching 11-12 Body and Tech, in the old game practically no doors got in your way. Oh well it seems with update 2.0+ they were out to ♥♥♥♥ the player in every way.
The conclusion is: Now I know that doors are no longer a reason to level Body or Tech, because it is useless. When they wanted you to be able to open a door, now they are Body level 3. All others are off limits.
