Dogtown first quest stuck
Hello! I've got a problem and that is i can't beat the area where you have to defeat the pursuers when fleeing with the president. I'm suppose to fend them of long enough untill Songbird has figured out and carried out a way to help us.

I have tried completing it 3 times at different lvls. I'm playing the game at the hardest setting. Problem is i can't deal enough damage to keep them away and stay alive because they drain my HP really fast.

What lvl is high enough so i can get through this area?

Depend a lot on your build. As a netrunner I needed a fairly high lvl, like way beyond when the DLC quest becomes available. The thing is, it becomes available mid-game but is more like end-game content.
You can either dump the progress you made and go back to a previous save or lower the difficulty.

Well i'd also consider myself a netrunner. I'm currently lvl 47 and i couldn't still complete it at lvl 42. Well i guess it's back to lvling up more then

Are all your hacks maxed out on legendary, is your cyberdeck upgraded fully?

Don't just rely on hacking, use a gun.

I struggled on my first time doing this quest too. I was underleveled and was playing on very hard.

I managed to do it eventually by just staying need the door that you have to escape to.

Make sure you kill any chasing cops on the way since you can't enter if they are chasing, no matter the distance. Then just try to kill any new spawning waves at the door using any of your powerful stuff to kill them as fast as possible.

Done this twice, first time as a new player and played on easy difficulty. 2nd time fairly recently at hard. Both times no problem as netrunner mainly spamming overheat and some power pistol shots from time to time (I normally use thrown knives as stealth netrunner), both times between lvl 40 and 50 somewhere.

I just hid behind the big thing and peeked up to hack them as they came out on the balcony above, until all of them were down. The president helped a lot, I think. Sometimes got surprised by the guys coming from the sides and behind at ground level, but went well.

Probably not a tip you prefer to hear, but maybe you could try at a lower difficulty for this. :cybereye: I don't think there are achievements or anything for playing on very hard, if that is the issue.

I'm currently playing on very hard now, and I notice quite the difference from hard to very hard.

Good luck!

(Edit: Looking at the post above, I may misundestand which mission this is.)

Update: I got through the mission finally. At lvl 51 on very hard as a netrunner i managed to beat the soldiers.

SPOILER ALERT

The bossfight right afterwards was so much easier than the fight before... :steambored::steamhappy:

I was having trouble with that one at first, but then I noticed, if you get out of the vehicle and engage the pursuers, they also get out of their vehicles. Then, get back in yours. They will just stand there watching you drive away. Then, ditch the vehicle, hide from patrols on foot and creep over to the escape entrance.

It depends on your overall level and general ability in playing the game. I was at max level and still had to drop from Very Hard to Hard to beat the boss in this area, although I was able to survive the general attackers without a lot of trouble. I think that Phantom Liberty had its difficulty level increased a notch, esp. in the case of the big bosses.

I found it easier to sneak through on foot instead of taking the Barghest vehicle. Attracts a lot less attention, using the vehicle seems to gather almost unending reinforcements if you get into a fight. Good way to unlock the Dogtown's Most Wanted achievement though :)

I had to drop difficulty for this as well. My build at that point was primarily cool and reflexes, but no matter how much I dashed around I was always in someones range of fire and with their massive health I was unable to kill them faster than they killed me.
