Question about when to play DLC
I am about 20 hours into my first ever play through of cyberpunk. I only bought the base game. I want to buy the Phantom Liberty DLC, but Im concerned that installing it now will impact my current play through. Should I wait until Ive finished the main game before getting the DLC? Or will I be fine with just getting it now? Not sure the best way to handle this, if anyone has any suggestions or if I am just overthinking it. I just don't know how itll affect the storyline/ the progress Ive made so far.

I did the same thing. One of my pals on my friend's list recommended I install the DLC, if possible, before going further. So I bought it and ran it. So glad I did. No worries. It will not disrupt your current play through. It meshes with the base game quite nicely and some missions actually bleeds through the base game a swell.

The expansion will also grant you really nice gear (guns, relic augmentations, etc). ;)

I actually finished the Phantom Liberty story before the base game and am now ready to "meet Hanako at the Embers". It's pretty seamless.

Personally I'd wait to finish the vanilla game before doing the DLC. Then once you do, install the DLC, reload the "point of no return," then do the DLC and do one of its endings.

With the DLC installed the game does a good job of letting you know when you are able to do the PL content. Without spoiling too much, it is a funky phone call. Continue through the MSQ and you will see what I mean, hard to miss.
