Giving 2.0 a chance. Tips to make the most of it?
So I love narrative driven single-player games — usually linear FPSes or TPS — so the narrative of this game is right up my alley. However, for reasons this community may very well be tired of hearing, my relationship with this game, it's launch, and the community is/was... contentious.

But that's in the past, and I had around 20 hours on 1.0 before I called it quits (when I called in vehicles they would always try to run me over, among other annoying glitches). I have been playing 2.0for a round 3 to 4 hours now and I'm liking the new skills layout, and the game feels more polished!

Just wanted to ask some quick tips for making the most of it. Should I go for a specialist build, or a jack of all trades attribute types? Should I focus on side content first or stick with the story (currently about to do The Heist — I had already done this prior but alas)? Any other tips and tricks to improve and maximize my 2.0 experience?

Playing as a steetkid by the way.

Well, relatively speaking. It has a much more cohesive, stable feel to it than what I remember at least!

Get Phantom Liberty DLC if you do not have it, it is fantastic.

I like ranged stealth with silenced weapons. Some missions have better rewards if you remain in stealth/undiscovered. Note the enemy finding a body and searching for you is still in stealth as they have not discovered your location. Look at using Cool perks, Cool Attuned chrome and non-traceable cyberware.

Also mod one silenced weapon to be non-lethal. Some missions reward better to not kill but just injure. The mission details will indicate such, like the client would prefer the least amount of bloodshed, etc.

The heist is early enough it's no big deal, but after that leveling up with better weapons, chrome, and cyberware is needed especially to do Phantom Liberty needs at least lvl 15. On the map is a custom filter top left and select gigs and ncpd and start working those. I did all the gigs for all the fixers, they give you some good stuff.

Also be sure to breakdown things you won't use to get the components from them to build and upgrade things you will use.

IMHO

I went for a jack of all trades build for my first current run and I'm glad I did. From there I learned what would work best for me on my 2nd run with more dedicated builds, based on my preferred play-style. Not too OP and with plenty of agility (dash, air dashing, etc). I like my combat intense and cinematic, so I practiced landing all my hits as I zipped around like a cyber psycho. But I started out more as an infiltrator ninja of sorts, having fun playing with several hacks. This game has it all for me. A jack of all trades game, I guess one can say.
