Not quite. Depending on the ending, the player can be set back before getting locked into OP55N1 (or whatever it's called—it's a Chopin Nocturne and never learned any of them because they're so lethargic to hear and play). That will let player mop up unfinished quests, but it's technically before any ending.

A auto-save is made the moment before you start the final quest, upon completing the final quest, you are put back at that point in time with the quest rewards for your chosen ending now available.

Unless you choose the new DLC ending where you are cured, it does not put you back. It ends and dumps you back at the main menu.

Ah, I've not played the DLC ending yet, so I assumed it followed the same rules as the standard ending - Hopefully it still makes a save before the PNR you can load into?
