This game kinda too easy .
the best time i had in this game was when V get his ass absolutely kicked. But more more upgrade he got, the easier the game.
I don't mind some street gangs being easy to heavily chromed V, but the corpo forces also barely pose any challenges. How come a heavily guarded Arasaka base is easier than the police ?
I think the street gangs being at very healthy challenges for V to find some quick money. But I think the encounter with corpos should be double at least in term of number, maybe drop a mini boss and couple additional big robots too . For now they are a joke, barely any harder than street thugs .

very hard. unfairly hard in the early...brain dead easy in the late game.

I thought the same, played the vanilla game and thought it could have used one higher difficulty level above very hard. But then played the DLC and found that the AI was noticeably harder than the base game. IMO the difficult in the DLC was just right, little harder than the base game

I do think the corpos doesn't feel threatening enough. Their number too low, their encounter barely any harder than the street thugs.

Difficulty balancing in a massive open world game has always worked this way.

See: Skyrim and The Witcher 3.

Basically, it's impossible to properly balance a game that gives you so much freedom. They risk hammering people with less efficient builds to cater to the hardcore min-max players and it is typically better not to alienate the player 50 hours into a 100+ hour long game.

Elden Ring even suffers from a similar issue where you can either struggle or cakewalk depending on your level, gear, consumables, etc. because they can't really predict the exact path the player will take through the game.

Consistent challenge is the realm of more linear games. Ones where the developer can plan your challenge because they know exactly what you have access to at that point in the game.

it was very hard , non min max should not play very hard. And I don't even min max that hard.

The problem for me is that enemies never get any more advanced. The goons you fight the first 5 minutes is the same ones you fight after 50 hours. Only thing that has changed is the numbers. Everything else is the same for ever.

Max-Tac Mantis Blade is the toughest enemy I've fought. Just rack up 5 stars and wait for the transport to arrive. Have fun.

I can see where you are coming from. I definitely prefer playing on The hardest setting...even on the hardest...yes I can totally just obliterate everyone...but the odd time I get stuck on some fights...sometimes...
I do like with the 2.0 update I believe, they kicked it up a bit by making cyber psychos harder...and the cops always seem tough...never really tried to battle them...usually just run...lol
Have you played Phantom Liberty?...that definitely kicked it up a notch...I was mele..I feel I was an underdog...

I mean I guess. It's going to be too easy at some point (give the amount of power you have). I am playing on Normal and by lv 30 with was pretty easy with a half-finished build (but I am also using Quickhacks for AOE and Tech weapons.

Have you gone for the "Don't Fear the Reaper" ending on VH, also? I will say like already stated Phantom Liberty does a better job with the challenge.

The bosses of Phantom Liberty do have more interesting mechanics.

You can always use a mod to fix that, but this game is complete and not getting anymore balance patches -> unless something is announced. As is, most of the devs are working on other games now, so if you want something different out of this game, then mods are now the only answer.

problem is, atleast to me the only hard thing in the game is maxtac and nothing else everything else is easy

with the way i play ive never noticed any difference being on easy or v-hard.
stealth + swords / knives
a stealth take-down is just as efficient on any difficulty as are stealth head-shots 1 hitting things on any difficulty.
only noticeable difference is that cyber psychos have noticeably more hp as do bosses.

i agree with op that the game is very easy depending on how you approach it regardless of difficulty

Has anybody who calls this game 'too easy' posted any recorded gameplay? I'd _love_ to see it. After playing this game for thousands of hours, I still find it quite a challenge, so maybe I'm just stupid.
