Some Iconics are plans; You have to make them yourself via the Crafting tab.
This issue has persisted since the game's launch, either unresolved or reintroduced. Developers consistently request proof, asking players to 'send a clip of it happening.' While I understand the need for evidence, it’s unreasonable to expect players to spend hours recording gameplay and hunting for rare instances where legendary items fail to appear in their inventory—essentially doing QA work for free.
I recently encountered this issue in-game but didn’t write down the weapon’s name before looting it. It was a legendary item, and I always verify that it’s not a crafting spec, cyberware, or crafting materials. Since I haven’t received any legendary mats or specs yet, this was clearly a bug. It’s frustrating that this random issue affects inventory inconsistently, and I wish the developers would prioritize fixing it.
As a workaround, I recommend keeping track of legendary loot as you pick it up. If it doesn’t show in your inventory, you can use cyberCAT to restore the missing item.
Unfortunately, even if you manage to record the bug, the developers might dismiss it. Their reliance on the "lack of evidence means it never happened" (appeal to ignorance) mindset is discouraging for players trying to engage in good faith.
It happens however hundreds of time, that you dont actually get the weapon but the schematic to craft the weapon. After 2.00 it seems that all iconic you get outside of main missions (gigs/scanner missions) are craftic schematics.
Probably has something to do with how the scaling was changed in 2.00, though I dont understand whats the point. I can still remember that Breakthrough, Fenrir, Buzzsaw or Comrades Hammer were all actual weapons, now they are blueprints.
If you pick up an iconic from an airdrop its the actual weapon. If you pick up an iconic from an 'organized crime' is a schematic.
So if you pick up an iconic weapon and you dont have it in your inventory, check you crafting screen. Its there, I guarantee it.
Simply they changed it at some point, you pick up schematics instead of the item
