There is very little replayability. The simulation is only surface deep.
My first playthrough was something like 150hours and i didn't even start the DLC.
I think my "complete everything i can" run entailed over 300 hours.
Replayable? Yes, depending on what you deem "replayable".
The core story will be the same, but you do have choices. Save X, Let X die. Take X, Leave X etc..
There are parts of the story where you have that choice.
You ofcourse, have infinite numbers of ways to play. Stealth, Melee, Snipers, Rifles, Netrunning etc.. Lots of builds to go through and try.
If you replay other games then you will probably replay this one.
I invested over 470 hours so far. I can't get enough of this game regardless of the fact I finished my first full playthrough. Just learning how to chain combat moves, making each fight look and feel impressive, is addicting. I mostly engage in endless horde mode with the police and Maxtac these days, until I decide to start my 2nd full playthrough and wrap up my remaining achievements.
Replayablity? It's an action RPG with multiple outcomes. I'd say yes, it has replayability. But your mileage may vary.
Some people just didn't care for it, so to them, it's meh.
To guys like me, it's amazing and hard to knock it off my hands.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a phenomenal game and some would say, a true work of art, though not without its flaws. The question is, will you be able to get passed them and get lots of enjoyment out of the game like I am? No clue.
If it's on sale, I'd say you can't go wrong adding it to your library. It's one of those noteworthy games in the history of gaming. You get 2 hours to decide if you like it enough or get a refund.
My recommendation is to bypass spending any time designing your character and just use a generic model, so you can get in as much game time as you can within 2 hours.
2 hours might still be too early to tell, but at least you'll get an idea of what kind of game it is. For me, it really took off after 5.5 hours.
Ignoring my initial disappointments (launch), I've been slowly putting time into this game since release, and am not really bored with it. For me, it's fun and great for relaxation.
Personally, I'd say that it really depends on you. If you're mainly in it for the story, then I'd say that you could probably get a few replays out of it, and people have if that helps. If you're in it for the sand, then I'd suggest using mods to expand on that, because it's not this game's strongsuit.
edit:
Due to my playstyle, I'd say wait for a sale, as I'm more focused on sand and less focused on story. Others may see it differently. Up to you.
Why would you ever do that for a new game you're about to buy? Makes no sense. Ruins all the surprises and first run through experience.
OP yes there are many weapons and different play styles and genders and different endings to the game so yes it has replayability. Great game.
I am with you there. This isn't really a game meant to be replayed right after an ending, anyway. It's one looong story and other than the DLC there isn't a lot of branching to the narrative.
Replay is a concern for a game <20 hours long. Not a game 100+ hours long.
No doubt, the vast majority of players have maybe replayed it maybe once or twice, but otherwise have played it, beat it, and moved on. There's also players who have done or are currently doing multiple playthroughs, which may or may not include using mods as well. Finally, there's players who mod the game to suit their tastes and pretty much have their V living in Night City (me), some play to an ending, and some haven't as of yet (also me).
Overall though, if some are saying that it's replayable, then it's because to them, it's replayable. No an absolute of course, but a perspective of a few players.
Yeah but there's different ways to play, stealth, run n gun, blades only, netrunner, etc. Plus it's so much fun, no one is only going to play it once.
