Do you want Cyberpunk 2 to have multiplayer?
As a newcomer to CP, I was a little surprised to learn that there's no multiplayer. I'm one of those gamers who's very picky when it comes to multiplayer. I'll play a whole bunch of different games singleplayer and love them, Doom, Dead space, Overwatch, Callisto Protocol, Division, Battlefield, CoD, etc, but only a few games would I be interested in actually playing and investing in online.

While I still love CP as a single player experience, I can't help but think of how amazing it would be if there was an online PVE/PVP world where we could all just mingle, chat, go on co-op missions with together, take on extremely strong waves of Mititech/Arasaka/Superpsycho armies and get lots of rewards and goodies at the end of it.

Imagine a world similar to what Massive Entertainment created with the Dark Zone in The Division. A zone where we can either get along and team up and use our skills together to take down enemy armies, or we can go rogue and turn on each other, which would highlight us on the mini map to all surrounding players that we've gone rogue against another player and there are more rewards and bonuses for taking down these rogue players.

I feel like it would be a great distraction from the singleplayer side of things, and when we're done playing online, we can go back to the campaign and so on.

Imagine 100 player servers where we could all just meet up and get to know other netrunners around the world and do missions together, or go rogue and test our skills against the best out there. Imagine you go rogue and are the most hunted on the server, hunted by Barghest, NCPD, other players, everyone's after you. That would be a whole different kind of rush to playing singleplayer.

It's not easy but I think it could be done.

It's a neat feature for Cyberpunk. I'd imagine it'd be similar to GTAV where you and some friends get together to do some gigs or something, and that alone sounds fun. Actually, this is the one game during the live service era where I was disappointed where MP wasn't a thing. But ultimately I can live with or without it, as long as the game itself is fun.

Then go back to playing the Division. Go back to Destiny.

I guess it would be a nice option for those who like to engage in that type of gameplay. Personally, I would never use it.

No.

I’ve ever only known CDPR as a studio that makes singleplayer experiences because that’s where their area of expertise lies.

But they made Gwent and that’s a multiplayer game!

Two things:
1. Gwent was developed on Unity specifically because REDengine doesn’t have multiplayer functions.

2. Gwent is very clearly not on the same scale of ambition as Cyberpunk 2077 or Witcher 3. Equating Gwent with CP77/TW3 would be like equating a chicken with a T-Rex. No. Just no.

No. Hard pass.

I have no interest nor cares about having multiplayer in a single player game. Why? Because, it'll be problematic when I cheat, use mods, and overall, I just prefer to play alone. Outside of that, there's always the risk that the single player content will end up suffering to cater to a multiplayer platform.

Imo, CDPR would be better off releasing a standalone Cyberpunk themed MMORPG, if they want to go the multiplayer route.

You evidently missed the part where I stated that Gwent is clearly not on the same scale as this game or Witcher:
