non-lethal takedowns
is the stupid meme dildo the only way to non-lethal cyberpsychos now? I tried short circuiting one when they're at low health twice and the game just considered them dead.

i think there are electronic batons that are non-lethal.

Overheat quick hack works well, after removing enough health from melee or weapon attacks. Overheat only knocks enemies out.
Short circuit hacks can actually kill them if you stack them. Overheat is what worked fine for me.

I never used the dildo stick to fight cyberpsychos. Only on thugs, to relieve them of their dignity and give me a good laugh while I'm at it. :moxes:

I use guns with he pax mod.

Any Damage over time attack will not kill them. I've used char grenades on low health enemies. Normally I use Fenrir or Psalm and just stop at around 2% and let the dot down them.

It is all about "overkilling". Basically, if the enemy has 15 health left, but you smack em with a 60 damage hack, you'll explode their head. Any hack that kills, but doesn't overkill the enemy, even the most powerful ones, will result in a non-lethal takedown. Like if you calculate the damage just enough, your targets will survive. Obviously, Overheat is the best at it. Next comes the toxic hack.. But be careful and don't combine toxic with overheat, as their combination makes some humongous damage.

Shotgun to the face never killed any of them for me.

If you are lazy you could always just memory wipe them and go behind to do a stealth takedown from 100% health.

No... You can get a 'non-lethal' weapon mod for every type of weapon as long as it allows modifications. You can often receive non-lethal mod as a loot but you can also buy them at vendors who sell weapons. Sometimes they even sell weapons with the mods included.

Non-lethal and stealth was quite easy for me in 1.x, but it's a little more challenging (and fun for me) in 2.x. It was a learning curve.

Try different things. Read descriptions carefully. Read the tutorials carefully.

E-Even as much as I enjoy stealth when it's available as an option, I hate that one part in PL where the only option is to make a different choice that leads down a rather different story arc. If you want to go that specific story route, it's not optional. I dislike required stealth. Weird, that.

Any damage after the opponent is knocked out is lethal. Damage over time effects (DoTs), blunt melee weapons, and weapons with the Pax mod are nonlethal. DoTs are removed when the enemy is knocked out, but can be reapplied resulting in death. One big problem is that nonlethal portion needs to be the last thing to take out the enemy, and new damage must not be applied after KO. At tier 3+ short circuit after cyberware malfunction will cause an explosion(s) which is lethal damage, and at tier 4+ there is an additional EMP that could be lethal if already downed by the primary damage. EMP granades are kind of the opposite they deal a lethal explosion then an EMP dot so to be nonlethal they must be taken out by the secondary EMP not the explosion. I could be wrong, but I think bleed is a lethal DoT.

As you are expected to use nonlethal means to fight them Cyberpsychos have advantages against the common forms of nonlethal combat. This includes damage quickhacks, stealth takedowns, simple blunt weapons, and grenades. More advanced nonlethal tactics (gun/thrown with Pax, heavy gorilla arm attacks, nonlethal blunt special moves [don't throw a cyberpsycho], charged electric baton attacks, Sir John, burn/poison/emp from iconic) tend to have a better result.

You don't need non-lethal anything against cyberpsychos. Every normal weapon works for it.

Cyberpsychos should not die from a lethal hit, unless you hit them again after they are down, or start the getting downed animation.
Captain Skinny Jun 4, 2024 @ 11:04am
Truthfully, putting a Pax mod on your favorite type of weapon is the best choice. Revolvers work well typically cause they deliver big single shot blows, so work their health way down and just plug them in the stomach with the non-lethal weapon.
The mod works with almost all weapons, but you have to be careful with faster shooting guns or shotgun that pack multiple pellets because one extra hit after they're 'beaten' means they're dead.
Which is why big fat revolver rounds to the body is the preferred method.
valium Jun 4, 2024 @ 11:18am
Most of my builds use gorilla arms to patch up missing body attribute scores, so I have a convenient non-lethal face breaking option.

Yep. I actually shoved one cyberpsycho a couple of times to safely take her down without killing her, when I had her health down near 0. I kept killing her in previous tries, so I went for broke and started shoving instead lol.
(she was former Militech if I recall well).

You can use any weapon for Cyberspychos, they will fall to 1 HP, you need to stop before doing the last hit...
