I wish this game had an option for less gore/no gore
I understand that this is a mature game set in a dystopian world, but I have no interest whatsoever in the amount of ultra-violence that is depicted in this game.

This mod brings back the non-lethal optics that we had before the 2.0 change. I just tested it, and it works. You'll need to use all of the dependencies as well, like Cyber Engine Tweaks, tweakXL, archiveXL, etc.

You could always try non-lethaling everyone? I don't make people chunks unless I'm in the mood to cook up a batch.

And here I am with mods installed to add more gore and blood splatter to the game :steamdeadpan:

I couldn't care less about ultra-violence. Those TV shows and movies that go overboard with it usually have nothing much else to offer and bore me quickly. (Fallout has enough going for it that I enjoyed it even though it mimicked the violence of the video games. The Boys is too shallow for me to bother with it even if it had no violence in it.)

What brings me to CP'77's yard is the stories and the (self-imposed) challenges (created by my insistence on trying to play a specific way).

Ultra-violence is just noise that I can easily ignore (and do).

(What typically makes a game M+ rating isn't what interests me. It's got to have something more than M+ content only.)

All that stated, the setting of CP is one of a lot of overpowered violence. I'm sure I'd miss the "noise" if it wasn't there, and it would all feel really weird given how integrated the violence is in the story.

If the setting of CP isn't your thing, it's just not your thing. Nothing wrong with that, but you're looking for a mod and not a game setting.

Always read the description of the games that you buy OP. That's on you.

edit:
We used to have non-lethal mods, but those got removed in 2.0+. Even now, I still don't understand why CDPR removed those.

Find a mod that does that for you or find another game but the violence in this game- of my complaints, this isn't one of them (I play this more as a tech toy than how I traditionally play for story)- I can understand wanting non lethal solutions but that the violence isn't shielded is part of the raw exposed reality of the CP 2077 universe where dissonance is a distant fantasy for the average citizen.

Ratings boards literally exist for this exact reason: To inform/warn people what mature/graphic themes they can expect in a video game. Like, it's a legal requirement that a game must receive a rating before it can be sold on shelves and online.

The ESRB page[www.esrb.org] for this game describes in no ambiguous terms as to the type of graphic themes you can encounter in-game. The problem therefore lies fairly and squarely on your shoulders alone.

If gore is a problem for you (which is fine), I seriously don't understand how you don't already have the ESRB's website bookmarked on your browser.

I'm using quickhacks and non-lethal thrown weapons (PAX mod), so that is one way to avoid gore in the default game.

Welcome to Cyberpunk...you can always refund it I guess, or just go non-lethal and netrunner quickhacks without spilling (too much) blood.

I respect your request, and think it would be a reasonable "ask." Me, if I'm using the blades on my hands, the dismemberment graphic to me feels accurate. But this isn't a right or wrong thing: I think your hope that gore could be optionally turned down is totally reasonable. You're not asking that the game change for everyone, just that you be given that option. I think that's perfectly fair.

I'm finding plenty of guns with non lethal mods, they are still there just fine they weren't removed.

Target analysis is not the same as using a pax mod, and was removed in 2.0+.

The non lethal optics mod (target analysis) renders all of your weapons non-lethal. So guns, blunt weapons, your fists, your blades. All non lethal.

So stop being violent...:TheRooster: 90% of the game can be played as a "pacifist".
Any build can be a pacifist too. And you can talk(dialogue) your way out of most things.
Ive stealthed every encounter without touching any npc. Ive also knocked everyone out, without killing them, through a whole playthrough.
Granted its way harder now, than it was in previous patches with knocking people out, but there is still a decent amount of ways to do it. :cuphead:

Meanwhile a must have mod for me is more and higher quality blood splatters that last 10 mins and bullet wounds that dont disappear. to me i found it odd that i could blow a person in half and no blood would appear on the ground. with my mods thats no longer an issue. after fights it looks like the victims of a cyber psycho.
