Have they fixed the manhole covers yet? Or is there at least a decent mod somewhere I haven't seen?

The game is quite big and I don't want to re-download it until the manhole covers are fixed.

kilésengati, there are now no problems with manhole covers as far as I'm aware. Please explain what the issue was? Cheers

I remember the devs used german manhole covers for the game, but the people in the know about these things were up in arms that they used the WRONG german manhole covers or something? lol

Sorry for getting a tad off-topic, but this reminded me of a recent article about a rock band (The Dogs) here in Norway that sells manhole covers as merch! 'The countries heaviest merch!' they claim.

Real manhole covers, weighs 50 kg and costs 5000 NOK (about 500 dollars).

The front guy is pretty famous here as a comedian, radio host, actor etc, and for doing a lot of crazy stuff, though.

So, since my post above, I thought I'd keep my eyes open... There are manhole covers - all over the map. Most of 'em spew steam.

No. The manhole covers are the same as they always were. The entire road design in and around NC (paths, grades, markings, widths, curbs, shoulders, and everything) is also not USA standard.

If that's a big deal to you, OP, don't play. In fact, you should probably skip a lot of games that aren't 100% accurate to IRL.

We could try to argue that the big oops that sent the world spiraling off in a different direction cause the roads to be different, but they're also inconsistent with being current USA standard in some places and not in others.

If this is your focus on games, you will find little enjoyment in most of them. Find a new hobby.

I just spent around an hour in-game exclusively examining manhole covers. I failed to find anything noteworthy or wrong with any of them. Of course, I am no expert on manhole covers so maybe there is something I'm missing.

You won't play the game because of some super esoteric "issue" regarding manhole covers.

Amazing, honestly. Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care if you decide to play the game or not (ain't my money being spent, it's yours) but out of ALL the reasons why a person would be deterred from this game, it's some supposed "issue" with manhole covers.

If you quit this game over something as trivially inconsequential as a manhole cover, I cannot help but wonder what other games you've quit due to arbitrary "issues".

Popcorn ceilings? Chainlink fences? Lol.

i rly need OP to respond, i want to know what tf is wrong with manhole covers. the smoke coming out of them being pixelated? weird textures? what is it?!

This whole thread got me thinkin'... We need an underground map and gigs that tie into the above ground world. Kinda like Skyrim... but way better. The manholes would be the way under.

They could add it on as a DLC.

Oh, and btw, imo the OP was nothin' but click-bait, but it is interesting.
