POI locations - How do I locate places I want to go back to?

This might be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find my way back to places I've visited previously such as my starting apartment, or the Cyber-Doc (Viktor).

I was only able to locate Viktor one time because I had a mission to pay him back the eddies I owed him, but that removed the waypoint, and after roaming around the city, returning to previous POI without a waypoint isn't clicking with me.

Any pointers welcome at this point.

M will bring you to your map. On the left there are icons which control your map filters. Toggling them on and off will bring up or take away symbols representing your missions, police calls, your apartments, stores, etc. Clicking on the symbol on the map will generate a gps pathway to the location.

I've looked at the map so many times. I really can't believe I missed the filters entirely!
