This is how these threads usually go...
And purpose for V even going for any of these quests.
Yes, I agree. And I don't think there is too much dialogue, btw, as I love that in games. The more the better! At least if the stories and voice acting is decent like in this game.
But I wish there were more with Jackie. It didn't really sink in for me that he was supposed to be a best friend 'since forever' until later in the game through other dialogue after he was gone. When I first started playing and met him (as Nomad) he appeared as someone you just met and couldn't quite trust, and you never 'bonded' with him later.
I've started a new play through now (corpo), and wish more of the things we see in the cutscene before the "6 months later" message were things we could experience in the game, to get to know him better, as well as the things that happened before the game starts now.
Maybe in the sequel / prequel?
If all you want is to shoot and loot, this game is probably going to be a bit on the slow side.
If you want all action and none of that boring story stuff, maybe GTA or Saint's Row would be more to your taste.
You don't have the attention span to form proper sentences. You were never going to have the attention for plot development.
May I recommend Borderlands 3?
A lot of it is bloated and ends up sounding generic. Often most of the dialogue doesn't actually contribute to that "story" and even breaks it up through "witty" remarks, often by Johnny or V.
The best story beats CP does are the non-verbal ones, or the ones that have very little dialogue. Takemura being betrayed by Arasaka and changing over to your side isn't addressed by dialogue but is shown through the environment and situation.
That's an entire story beat that hits harder and is more memorably than any of the speeches prior. Dex' speech in the car had a lot of words but ultimately said very little.
You could honestly put the game on mute with no subtitles and at least up until after you get Johnny you'd be able to find your way with little issue.
