Question about XP during the training session

I've recently started a new game, and I read somewhere here that doing the training sessions multiple times to get some early XP and such might be a good idea.

With training sessions I mean the virtual world where you get 4 different scenarios to learn the basics of guns, hacking, stealth and advanced combat and such, before 'The Rescue' mission.

However, I just did this now, and did the combat sessions a few times to level up Headhunter and other skills a bit before continuing with the main story, and when I exit the training session I still have 0 points in everything (I saw the 'headhunter +130 XP' and similar several times during training). Also 0 XP in general.

Is this some bug, or has it always been like this, please?

I'm playing female corpo, so I hadn't done any combat or other things yet that would give me XP before the training session, if that is relevant.

I played a male nomad earlier, which had a much longer 'intro' where I think I got more XP before the training session.

Oh you mean specific to skill XP, not level XP...

I don't think I've ever even looked there at that point in the game.

Well level XP is also still at 0 after the training session, even though the level bar on the screen went quite high when I was in there, about 1/3 of the way to next level. All gone when coming back out.

Not very important, but I thought I'd read somewhere that doing those sessions a few times was a good way to level up a bit early in the game. Might be a new bug, unless they had it wrong.

I started this new playthrough in v2.11, but only continued it now after I've had a week's or so break from the game.

I started a new game on 2.11 recently and it gave me Level XP for SURE that I got to keep after training. Not a lot. And I didn't check skill XP until after I had already ran around the city doing stuff.

Ok thanks. I just kept playing. Gotten some XP now after The Rescue mission, but only like 44 XP lol. Maybe something is wrong. Normal difficulty, btw. Got 200 or so in a few of the skills.
