What kind of drive is it installed on?

I'm probably playing the wrong games but right now this is the visually most impressive game in my library.
And RT PT RR (lol) and HDR sometimes makes me fire up the game and just joyride around with my McLaren F1 and enjoy the visuals.

As @bogmore said, are you playing on hard disk and/or have you accidentally put hard disk mode on, how is your video RAM, do you have some kind of processor bottleneck.

In earlier versions there would sometimes be problems with, for example, billboards showing at very low resolution. Those have mostly been fixed. But if you're seeing *main character* models that "look bad" (*not* random people in the street -- if they were all modelled to the max the game would probably run at 3 FPS) and persistent low quality textures on objects that are close up, that doesn't sound normal.

Tripping if you think starfield LOOKS better than Cyberpunk 2077.

Playing at mostly maxxed out settings at 4k with dlss quality.

Old games like RE3 remake look much better. Even starfield.

anybody think this thread is trying to farm awards ? Playing at 4k myself with settings maxed and the game looks great. Dunno what you are looking at.

DLSS flattens textures to keep your framerate up. It does it in a particularly ugly way in Cyberpunk.

Try it without DLSS and I guarantee you'll see a significant difference (and a solid hit to your fps)

DLSS does not mean "better graphics all the time" it means "let a program decide how to display the game for better or worse." If it was always capable of producing a better image, they wouldn't allow us to switch it off. It would just be on all the time.

There might be an argument for how CP77 is using DLSS versus other games, but that's not the greater point here.

I can agree that Starfield looks better -> being a newer game with more up to date technology and visuals backing it, but 2019 RE3 is a no imo.

Nice try - But not quite...

One thing you cant fault CP2077 for is its visuals... It looks stunning... :cozybethesda:

Playing on a ssd , and a lot of billboards look REALLY bad. But not just billboards, many random items have very low res textures.

I cant run the game at 4k native, and 1440p just dosnt look good to me

As was said before there might be a chance you have accidentally put hard disk mode on. It is a option in the settings menu for the game. I cannot remember what it is called so maybe google it, but if I were you I would check your settings in game.

9700 with 4080, yeah right

I was understanding your predicament until you mentioned Starfield. No way in Hell does that 'game' look better than Cyberpunk 2077.

The game war released 4 years ago and yes, some textures look sub-par hence why multiple high-res texture mods exists. Same with character, skin, hair, tattoos, morphs etc etc.
Just a tip - leave texture quality at medium if you're planning to install those.
Also set Negative LOD bias via Nvidia profile inspector to smth like -2.0 or 3.0 , this will make everything significantly sharper when you're using DLSS.
And yeah, this game is praised for its looks, mainly with RT or even PT enabled. Worth every fps in my book
