What is the best short range stealth weapon?
A) a throwing blade with 2x Silencio Mod
B) a throwing blade with Silencio and Pax Mod
C) a Nue/Tamayura with Silencer, Scope and 2x Sliencio Mod
D) a Nue/Tamayura with SIlencer, Scope, Silencio and Equalizer Mod

assuming ultimate Tiers and all effecting perks/skills taken or achieved?

I usually use a Unity silenced, currently I am using one of Jackie's guns.

Anything with 200% headshot damage that can be silenced is good.

The only weapons that can be / are silenced and have 200% headshot damage are Plan B and Overwatch, I thought. The knife has 200 too and is obviously silent anyway.

Of the normal (non iconic) weapons.... Tamayura has bit better stats than Nue, but it is harder to find (mostly found from Arasaka people). Also it has only 8 bullet mag and worse handling (and IIRC rate of fire?), I normally use Nue. It usually makes little difference is it Tamayura or Nue if they are at the top level (your player level)

Note Silencio mod is for melee weapons only. I currently use Nue with Kanetsugu sight (the best tier 5 short sight imo) and Cetus silencer, all tier 5. Tier 5 XC-10 Cetus says it gives only crit hits if undetected... haven't payed attention is that so because they usually drop dead anyway

Get an Equilizer on those throwing knives, the only enemies that should be surviving a headshot are the enemies taking additional damage from the Equilizer. I also like Zero-G on my throwing knives.

The iconic knives are also good, the dots will do work on the beefier enemies.

Outside of stealth, Agaou is stupidly overpowered.

True. Totally forgot. And in this case the XC10 makes also more sense, because you cannot get the crit bonus from the silencio. Thanks

Really? Did not really think that. I was between the knife for the 200 headshot score or the one with the 50% poison bonus on Tier 5. What makes this Agaou so OP?

Death and Taxes iconic with the orange silencer (no penalty, 150% crit dmg).

This pistol shoots 2x in a single press and it is fast enough once used to the recoil to reliably hit someone twice (aka 4 bullets) with it during focus and before they can trigger combat with the delay perk in cool. So far I have not found any weapon that beats this. Its damage per bullet is among the highest of pistols but the double shot is much faster than shooting another pistol like Nue twice.

I can do anywhere from around 3k - 10k burst before they can swap to combat mode which is enough to kill majority of the game's enemies on very hard and maintain stealth.

Before that I would use Nue and the best silencer you can get paired with System Collapse OR the skill that cuts their vision and then stealth melee grab from behind (system collapse is superior imo because setup with overdrive and the right upgrades, plus the auto heal cyberware and revival cyberware, plus raven deck you can literally system collapse 5-20 people depending on how lucky you get).

Before you find a Nue or Tamayura I would go with a throwing axe.

With proper cyberware, you can pretty much 100% crit chance on throwing weapons, which means you are landing 100% chance special effect on the Agaou, which does insane aoe damage.

Would it make sense to put 2 silencio mods on a throwable weapon? The crit chance of mathematically 200% would obviously wasted, but would the crit damage indeed be doubled?

Silencio does not apply to ranged attacks, only melee.

Wait. Are you saying I can attach it to a throwable weapon, but it does not apply if I throw it???

Yup, throwing it doesn't apply the crit chance. Only if you swing it as a melee weapon.

I am never without a silenced Nue, or a Chingona Dorada (one of Jackie's pistols)

Punknives with appropriate mods work pretty well and return to your hand quickly. Don't overlook the tomahawk or Claw axe. They are usually more powerful than knives at the same level.

Ok, that kills the throwing option for me. In this case I will rather go for silenced pistols. Maybe mod them with equalizer and pax.

Yeah, pistols are far stronger than throwing weapons. It isn't even a contest. Of course, you have to have them first so throwing starts out a bit stronger until you find a Nue or something, eventually swapping to Death and Taxes.

As for pax why? Are you using it for Cyberpsychos? Just a heads up you only get a pair of purple pants for doing all 16 of them non-lethal. IIRC, I don't think there was even an achievement for it. A completely pointless venture, though you can just cloak and sneak up or disable their movement and grab them from behind if you want an easy solution.
