Any way to reduce the (exaggerated) auto exposure effect?
Hi,

Does anyone know how to reduce the auto exposure effect in HDR?

Cyberpunk 2077 exaggerates this effect IMO, and it becomes a distraction. Maybe this works better on a high-end HDR OLED display, but for me HDR in CP2077 isn't as good as most other recent games I've played with my monitor - Doom Eternal, Talos Principle, Red Dead Redemption, Resident Evil Remakes etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Dunno if Cyber Engine Tweaks has a setting for this, but you could also try using ReShade to minimize the effect (though it would also affect the menus).

I use Reshade with Curves, Levels and Clarity, which helps - but doesn't remove the issue.

Yeah sorry, it's all I know.
The only thing I can think of is some command you can enter in Cyber Engine Tweaks, though I wouldn't know what kinda command that would be.

Thanks, that's fine, I mean it's not terrible, but UE5 games and various others in general have better HDR IMO - at least for my HDR 600 monitor. People with OLED monitors seem to be very happy with the HDR quality in CP2077 though.

Come to think of it, removing the vignette effect in CET does help a bit. Try it out.

I already removed the vignette effect by using some mod (can't remember which), but I don't think there's a way to do this properly. I've googled after mods, and can't find any.

I guess I'll get used to it, but I wish CDPR would tone this effect down a little. It doesn't look realistic IMO, but more like some overhyped version of what reality is through a camera lens or something. Either way, great looking game - except for this unfortunate visual choice.

Btw., I just downloaded Preem optics - great mod. It's shortens the auto exposure effect (but not too much), and removes the vignette effect.

Probably the best choice, and it's definitely an improvement.
