Weapon Levels/Scaling?

Im pretty sure the guns i get at higher levels are better, but are they actually better? Or its just the same gun regardless your level when you obtain it?

I mean for example i get gun A at lv 6, then i get gun A at level 20. Its the same gun but obtained at a different level. Since there is no way to see gun’s level, does the gun actually have a difference or not (lets say both are tier 1)?

Im curious about this (im hesitant on doing side quest that gives weapon as a reward since ill get the better version if i do it at max lvl)

Iconic weapons can be upgraded, so it's ok to get them at lower levels.

The other guns will scale up with your level / tier when you find them, and you'll find lots of them, so if you find a tier 1 gun when you're lvl 20, like you mention, it's pretty weak against the enemies you'll fight, so you might as well sell or dismantle it.

can i upgrade the tier 1 gun i get at lv 20 to higher tier?

The guns at each tier are all the same at all levels acquired. Gaining levels will just increase the tiers of weapons that can spawn. You can be level 1 with an 5++ iconic weapon and it will have the same stats as when you are level 60.

The tiers are all that matter in terms of stats.

No, 'normal' weapons can not be upgraded, only the iconic ones, so the tier 1 weapons will become more and more useless the higher level you get, since the enemies you fight will scale up with your own level. If you're level 50 and use a tier 1 weapon, it will barely make a dent on the enemies you fight

Weapons have 5 different tiers, indicated by their colours, where white is tier 1 and the weakest, then green, blue, orange and red (I think ). You will see the damage is higher on the higher tier weapons of the same type.

When you upgrade the iconic ones the damage will increase.

I have some Twitch and amazon prime weapons at level 1 and usually upgrade one as much as possible as soon as possible, they are so Overpowered.

The upgrades are white, green, blue, pink, orange.
