Discovering gigs and side jobs - any downsides?
I'm currently driving around the map to unlock the various gigs and side jobs currently visible (the cyan and yellow symbols with an ! in them), to get the mission descriptions and such, but I plan on doing them later. It's just to get them on the mission log and know what to expect later, and plan a bit.

I wonder though, are there any downsides to doing this, please? Will some of them end up as failed because I waited too long from accepting them to completing them or something, for example?

Anyone else done it this way?

the gigs are always on the map either way, afaik no mission has a time limit

it would personally annoy me to have such a cluttered log though

Thanks. Good point about the log! I'm starting to notice :lunar2019crylaughingpig: Good thing there are separate tabs for the gigs and main/side jobs, but I think I've unlocked enough for a while now...

Was just curious, basically, but I can wait.

I suspect it was easier to decide which ones to do before, when there were different levels in the different areas? I've been doing jobs all over the map, but I suspect they should preferably be done in the areas one by one, for best story context or something.

Another thing to note, as you finish all the gigs in a particular fixer's area, they give you additional sets of them. And other side jobs will appear after certain points.

Some of the side jobs are time critical, the yellow ones.
But only very few.

How I do it is I wander around while waiting for a quest line. For example meet Evelyn Parker at Lizzie's between the hours of 6:00pm to 6:00am. If it's 8:00am then I just wander around the map looking for NCPD popups, gigs and random gang members that'll attack me if I go stand next to them. Once it's past 6:00pm in this particular case then I'll carry on with that mission. You can go there, stand and wait but for role playing purposes I do it like this because I can level up a bit but not to the point where I'm OP early game at least.

Good to know! I had one, to meet the fixer (the one with the repeatable car hi-jacking missions) on a dam, where I got a text from him a little while after I accepted it, telling me to hurry, so I went to the dam shortly after, where he talked to the police guy he works with. I got a next step there, though, but wasn't planning on hurrying that one. Did a few gigs since.

I'll focus on them section by section from now, I think. Started on the last 4 from Regina now, so will complete them first.
