THE IDEA BEHIND HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENTS
Can someone give me a genuine reason why this game (and others on steam) would have hidden achievements?

I was working on one that had so many side missions with Kerry. I had no idea it ends up with an achievement. Why do they do this? it's like they want you to miss out on stuff that you paid for .. come on steam

hidden achievements started out on the ps3 to hide story related achievements, as to why none story related achievements get marked as hidden to this day is a mystery to me and needs to stop

I suppose to solve this I would propose that Story based achievements should be removed.

Instead Achievements should be more about a challenge or a grindy objective... rather than simply choosing a particular option in a story dialogue...

Achievements are worth nothing. You gain nothing but a small, fleeting moment of 'hey! Look at that!'
Devs are not obligated to provide you with achievements, they are not obligated to show you the hidden ones, and you are not obligated to getting them.

Just play the game to, and I know this is a bizarre concept, have FUN, and not worry about incredibly myopic things like achievements, and worse, their visibility.

I sincerely cannot imagine something lamer than achievement chasing.

Well Said Captain Skinny. My sentiments exactly.

The hidden achievements are supposed to be the ones that are story related, that is it.

Nobody cares what achievements you have, they are solely for your own satisfaction.
