Is installing mods through vortex is advisable?
Last time I played was like in march 2023 and now I want to play again. I've reset my mods so I am starting from scratch. I used to install my mods manually, now I have question, is installing mods through vortex is a good thing? Will it have a side effect?

Vortex is a great way to manage your mods, it can automatically install them in the correct folders and activate them, it also makes removing them as easy as just two clicks.
There is also the option to temporarily disable them without a need to remove them completely and it shows you when there is a newer version of the mod so you can always have them up to date without having to look for the mod directly on Nexus Mods every time.

This game is actually very vortex friendly, I prefer manually, but the majority of mods, like nearly all of them can be done with vortex. With some exceptions

Yeah, the last time I played this game I heard that this game was not vortex friendly. I prefer to install it manually to prevent any problems in the future, but sometime keeping up with which mods needs an update is kinda tricky, especially after big patch.

If anyone have experience with vortex please do share it! :D

People dribble ♥♥♥♥ for the sake of it. My brother uses vortex and has over 200 mods on it and swears by it. He likes it because it's click and download and easier to check for updates.

I use manual out of habit but majority of mods I see have vortex support and my brother has only asked me twice for help with 2 mods that needed a manual installation

Well I guess I'll try combine both vortex and manual installation then

the only problem had with vortex is sometimes when you uninstall mods vortex wont completely remove all files from mods especially the r6 folder where the scripts are so i just manually remove them no biggy

I find Vortex works extremely well. Most of the problems crop up when modders make a mistake in the file structure setup. But like any piece of software, there's a learning curve. If you are going to use mods in any fashion, you need to be comfortable with digging around in your folders/files and understand how they are structured and where the files go.

I see, so that's one of the thing I'll keep in mind.

Thats good to hear! And fortunately I am quite familiar with vortex and such. Since I fortunately have the experience of modding skyrim for countless hours using vortex.
